To link to a specific url do the following. Some of this will be individual keystrokes with a description of what to do because actually attempting to type the entire format will create a link and I don't want to do that right now.
Open what you want to link in a new browser window or tab in your browser, depending on version.
To create the link, type the left bracket [ followed by url= then copy and paste the url (address) of the page you wish to link. If it is a simple link like "something.com", you might find it easier to type than to copy and paste. If you want to link to the first page of a thread, go to that page and get that address or you can use any intermediate page along the way. For a specific post on a page, find the post number in the header of that post and write it down.
After pasting the url of the page you wish to link, correct the post number if needed (you will see where that is in the url you copied and pasted) then type a right bracket ].
Follow that with a name for the link such as "See This Link." Try to keep it fairly short. A few words are better than a lot. then type the left bracket again [ the slash / then url and the right bracket ].
for example to link to the MB home page I would type "
dot com of course since I still don't want a real link to show up here.[/color]]Marriage Builders"
Follow that?
OR from a reply, edit or post box, but not a quick reply box open the place you want to link in a new window or tab like above, copy the url, click the "url" button below the text box, paste the url when prompted (or type it if it is short enough) then click the button to continue. You will be prompted for a name for the link and continue again and it writes all that UBB code for you.
