Dear Catholic BSs,

My curious notion that Catholicism is true is leading me into behaviors which are, as Alice put it, "curiouser and curiouser." Here is the latest:

I am in Rome this Holy Week. Preserved in Rome are the Holy Stairs, the steps from Pontius Pilate's palace in Jerusalem which Our Lord climbed and descended several times on the day of His Passion. It is a traditional penance for the faithful to climb them on their kness. I have done so three times this week on behalf of your WSs.

While doing so, I implored Our Lady to intercede with Her Son that He pour out grace on your WSs and yourselves. For those whose hearts are hardened, remorse, conversion, and repentance. For all, strength and courage to rebuild and recover.

God bless.

P.S.: For those unaware of Church doctrine on applied penance I append a brief catechetical and apologetic note. The Bible and the Church teach that penance both appeases God's wrath and can be done on behalf of others. For penance in general appeasing God's wrath see Jonah and Our Lord's commentary on it. For applied penance see Job, the healing of the paralytic let through the roof because of "their faith", St. Paul's "Bear each other's burdens", and the line of the Creed "the communion of saints".

P.S.S.: I will not return to this thread to acknowledge thanks or answer objections. "You're welcome" in advance. See my latest post on "Goodbye MB".
