I can't seem to find any answers today. My wife is in tech school for the Air Force and is filing for a divorce. I am back in New Hampshire with our two children who are 2 and 4.

She has another 8 weeks of tech school where she is and then 6 more weeks in another location. Can she just come from tech school and take the kids and move to Alaska? Or do I have legal rights right now because this is where they live and what not?

Get to a lawyer NOW! As long as the kids are with you, you have a better chance of getting custody. Even if you later reconcile, you need to take steps immediately to protect yourself.

If you do NOTHING else be a man and protect your children. You can put them in day care as well as your W can in Alaska. File if you have to, but obtain custody of those kids.

It will do several things if you do obtain custody. First, it will protect your kids from the live style your W is no doubt leading. EVeryone was right on your other thread, it is party central when not on duty. Second, given what she has said, she is having an affair, if not physical, then emotional. Whatever it is, it is NOT with you.

Now, filing and having you obtain custody, JUST might throw some cold water on her ideas, that you will follow her around the world, while she lives with other men and parties. I have no idea how you could even intertain an idea so stupid, and I do mean STUPID. You are younger than my children and as a man, and yes a man who has been in the military, I will tell you, YOU NEED TO PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN.

Do it, and do it now. Then discuss with your W when and how she can come visit them.

You are right you are very yound and so is your W, but you two have brought two children into the world, and having done so it is YOUR DUTY to protect them and rear them properly. Get with the job, and quit focusing on your W.

Where in NH? I live there and can email you the name of a good attorney if you wish. I'll keep my email up this weekend and then edit it out. I never did end up using her as my ex and I did it ourselves, but I got her name through a couple different sources.

Abenaki, You need to LET GO and go into this divorce on your side. I made the mistake of going into my divorce on the fence, making some decisions based on hopes of someday reconciling. I look back now and feel like a fool. Don't make the same mistake man, reach deep down, it's forth and inches take the ball and slam it down her throat.

It just amazes me how everyone jumps to "shes cheating".
