sorry, not about the marriage.

as some of you may know, i'm not really fond of my current job situation.

ideally i want to be a teacher, but finances would be dramatically changed if i switched careers.

so plan B is to learn this new trade which i can do from home allowing me to earn enough to suppliment the lower teacher's salary.

once i have a pretty good income from that, i can get serious about becoming a teacher.

today i received my first check.

one baby but significant step towards getting my life where i would like it to be

go me!!

Go FL...whoohoo you!

I'm in kind of the same place, planning on going into business for myself.

It's probably going to take me three years to fully realize it, but I have a plan too!

Isn't it nice to move forward?

Hi JL and Weaver

It is nice to move forward.

and JL, just so ya know, it's NOT just MY plan. DH supports it too.

We first bought the equipment I needed in Jan, I have re-couped over half of the cost with that one paycheck

i am working with my brother which i realize is hard for my DH to deal with but so far it is going very well and the fact that my brother paid me early (he has not yet been paid by client) and a higher amount then first discussed, helped quite a bit. yesterday, DH, himself, said both those things were good signs.

brother has been doing this work (as a freelancer) for about 3 yrs now (it is home automation programming). He has been very successful, so much so, he has more work than he can handle.

i really do want to be a teacher but even if i did this fulltime it would be SO much better than my current position. I've been there 20+ years and so much of it was great but the company has just deteriorated so bad, too much globalization now, it is IMPOSSIBLE to be successful in that environment.

anyway, i am encouraged with the thought that being able to say good-bye has just gotten a bit closer.

FL, what subject, grade do you want to teach?

I was a teacher for a short time, taught 9th and 10th grade English.
