I just spoke to WH out of necessity this morning because my tax preparer said he needed WH's income info for 2006. Likewise, WH would probably need my income info as well. I called WH at work and he said he doesn't need my financial info and he's done filing his taxes. His dad who is a CPA filed them for him but I suspect something fishy is going on. How can he file his taxes without needing my info if he was legally married to me in 2006? How is that possible?

WH sounded hesitant so I'm not sure if he'll cooperate.

The conversation got a little heated, so I had to end the call. All WH wanted to know was when he could "move on with his life." He's being so selfish and unwilling to cooperate with me. It makes me so angry!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Looking forward to a new chapter since D was finalized on 4/24/07 from WH.

2 things:
if you are legally separated he does not need your income nor you his

if you file married filing separate, you don't need it either.

last year i filed legally separated, head of household, only needed my income.

he probably filed one of those ways. can't remember,do you have kids? if so, you need to find out if he claimed them because you both can't. i claim one of ours, my ex claims the other.

so, if he filed with just him income, you will have to file alone as well.

even married couples, actually married not in our sitch couples, don't have to file together.

if i remember correctly, if you have lived separately for more than 6 months, you can file head of household.
