Hey all. I know it is depressing to read everything that everyone is going through right now. But I was walking on the beach tonight, and WOW, the moon sure looks good!!
I don't remember seeing such a pretty moon in my life. Here is SoCal, just a tiny sliver is lit up, but you can still see the rest of it. Don't know if it looks like that in the rest of the world.
So, I've been thinking.......... My ex cheated, and left me, destroyed our family, our kids, and our life together. But he didn't have the power to ruin everything. Life goes on, the moon is beautiful. I wonder if he notices.

mimi - You know I luv you, and your great advice to those going through these terrible times. It is hard to read the stuff here everyday.
But, you know what? We get through it, and I truly believe that we come out BETTER than before. While we have lost our innocense, we gain an appreciation for things that we never knew before.
I would never have chosen this. But I am much stronger. I appreciate things more than ever. I love more. Although I didn't do things perfectly, I mostly took the high road. Life is good.

Thanks Believer !
I saw the same moon. It did look good. Life can be good, even with all the bad.
SS
I think sometimes about all the pain in the world. I hope we can ease that here, even if only a little bit.

That's called "Earthshine"!
It's because, if you were standing on the moon looking back at the Earth, it'd be nearly a "full Earth". And since the Earth is about 4 times the diameter of the moon in our sky, seen from the moon, and because Earth is a lot brighter than the moon (water and clouds are a lot brighter than basalt), it's really bright in the night sky from the moon (and thus is lighting up the night side of the moon seen from here!).

Thanks, Believer. I saw it, too, but didn't appreciate how spectacular it was until you reminded me.

Here in the Southeast, it was just a tiny crescent, also. On my way to my car this evening, I noticed the sunlight streaming through the clouds in shafts of light. It was awesome. I enjoyed that half mile walk.

Oh 2long, Earthshine, I love it!!!! I am an English major, and never paid too much attention to the physical sciences. But I can relate to a "full earth".
Recovery is so good. It feels great to know that the rest of the MB crowd will get there too. I promise.

Well we can't see any moon here tonight at all, however I'm hoping that its like that wherever my lovin' H is tonight. Nice & dark & safe.
It's nice to know the wonders of the every day world are still there for us all to see though.
Life may feel as if you are constantly getting kicked on a daily basis, living is about picking yourself up each day and going on and on and on regardless.

You know what? I have been driving around an old beatup 1990 Chevy Blazer 4WD all these years, and I just got a shiny, new to me, 2003 Huyndai Santa Fe.... with a MOON ROOF! Yesterday. Don't know how that ties into your thread Believer, but thanks for the opportunity to brag about my new set of wheels! and it shines too, just like the earth.

1990 os old! You funny, weaver!
Does anybody know that, from Pluto, the sun is something like 250 times brighter than the full moon on Earth? Even though it's almost a pinpoint?
I've seen people mount telescopes in "moon roofs" before. Kind of clever, but works better with a bench seat so you can slide from one side 2 the other for viewing stuff in the other direction.

Hey Believer,
I have to admit I must just have a dirty mind. When I saw the title of your post I just knew you were talking about the other moon. I have to say I am a big fan a both. My H and I love to moon each other. I call my H Mr. Buttman because he likes to do his Jim Carrey impersonation from Ace Ventura. I guess we must really be two of a kind. We both like the same silly stuff. I love him dearly and it's because of that very reason. LOL. I hope everyone is having a great day. I know I plan to.

I work in the hospital.. I shun the moon when it is full Ark, My DD was born on a night when the moon was full. There were 13 babies born in the same hospital that night. It was wild on that floor. When I used to tend bar we could tell when the moon was full just by how nutty the patrons were. Oh, and you should have seen the night I was working in Oklahome when we had tornado's... They never touched down where we were, but you would have thought, judging from our patrons, that the looney bus had stopped and unloaded in my section.
