Sounds funny, I know.

I live in LA, and will be driving 2 Vermont in early
August. Then about mid month, driving back either directly 2 LA, or by way of central Oregon for a few more days.

If some mbers want 2 meet me along the way somewhere for a cup of Joe or a greasy sandwich, let me know.

Wow, burgers w/Jim, Nikko's a great cook, lot's of java stops, room at Mel's..... Wow!!! If you stop out here, I'd take you to go eat at Makino Chaya's buffet or a Luau!

Imagine the invites you'd get if you opened your trip up to the MB international community?!?!?!

Heck, I'd post my autograph if I knew how!

'course, if I did, it would lose value

Well, folks. I'll look again, but I'm pretty sure I'll be heading out the 15 to the 70, then I don't remember what happens after Denver, though I do know I skirt the south end of Lake Michigan before bipping up to Vermont. Never driven past the lakes, so I'll have to see.

Houston is a bit out of my way, this trip. But Mel, we should get you and your spousal unit and Spacecase and his new Sigother 2 do dinner 2gether when I'm in town during March next year.

If the 2long 2our came anywhere near here, you'd be very welcome my friend.

WAT must be getting close to coming here. He was going to talk JL into coming too.

Jen,

I have been thinking of going back down your way. Not sure when but I loved NZ.

2L, are you going in your "old truck" if so you'd better be heading toward Mel, rather than up 15 to 70. Those 'little hills' they call the Rockies will do in the truck not to mention the "cooling system"

Just what form of motion do you plan on using? Surely not that incredibly slow thing you follow around at work.

As your plans tighten up let me know. I am going to be out and about later this summer. I suspect your will be roaring down 5 from Oregon, but if you can't hold 80 you had better put some off road tires on whatever it is your are cruising in.

JL:

I ac2ally contemplated taking the Model A for a few days, but the "thing" I'm carting 2 Vermont is ...2long 2 fit in the panel truck even if I take the passenger seat out and stuff it under the dash. In 2 weeks, I'll have an overdrive in it, so it should be able 2 do 60 on the flats, but still won't have the room.

So, I'm driving the "modern iron", which doesn't need the oil changed every 500 miles, thankfully.

If I do go 2 Oregon, I think I'd be heading home on the 20th of August. I'll take the 5. When I drove the Model A, I hugged the coast, so 45mph wasn't 2 big a problem. I can break the speed limit with the modern iron, though.

I just got a call from my friend, who says he wants 2 go with me 2 Vermont. We'll also probably go from there 2 Oregon, as I was cogitating before.

I'd still like 2 meet some of you folk units along the way, but it'll have 2 be for stops for foodies and stuff, and I'd rather not talk about infidelity in front of my friend.

Telescopes and Model A's are hunky dory topics, though!

If your travels take you near the Detroit area August 15 - 18th you may want to take a slight detour on up for this event.

Cars come from everywhere for a classic car event on Woodward Avenue which was the very first paved road in the country.

Here is the LINK ---- WOODWARD DREAM CRUISE

We could certainly meet for lunch or dinner as well.

Mr. Wondering

p.s. - though the "one day event" occurs the 18th...Woodward becomes a parking lot that actual day. People driving the old classic cars overheat in the traffic thus they typically park on the 18th and "cruise" Woodward on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings previous.

Mr W:

Oh pooh! We'll be leaving Vermont on the 12th, and need 2 be in Oregon by the 16th. I think we're going 2 dip up in2 Canadia so as 2 avoid all those pesky tollways (which we'll have 2 drive on the way out, un42nately).

Let us know how it goes in Quebec. We drove to Vermont one time by way of Canada, and Quebec was a trip, let me tell ya. I don't know if it was just us or what, but we couldn't find anyone who wanted to take our American money and no banks were open. That was a couple of decades ago though 2long, but still you might want to have a few loonies, or toonies on hand just in case. I loved every minute of Quebec, even though they didn't seem to like us that much.

ahhh, the Queen's highway.

Better take your kilometer to MPH conversion charts. Everything's goofy up there. You even have to buy gasoline in increments of Litres. What's that????
