Here it is. It's actually further south and east of the arrow. It runs parallel to Montegut.

Oh and zoom out to see it in relation to New Orleans and Houma.

Got it. I once went down one of the roads to the west that are on both sides of the bayou. Colorful scenery. And full of, er, places. I was amazed at the string of all kinds of, er, "things" along the road. Houses, small stores, shacks, ramps, piers, and uh, undefinable stuff. A lot of the things were built up on stilts.

I saw stuff Jeff Foxworthy talks about that he never saw because he was talking about another part of the US. And of course there were lots of perots and other types of boats. I remember the clear impression that if I lived there, I would have to shake my shoes out in the morning before I put them on.

Hey BC, did Dennis Quaid get the accent right in "The Big Easy"? I LOVED that movie. I LOVED the Zydeco music.

You go to school in Texas?

By law, Texas has the right to divide itself into five real States of the Union. I dunno if any other State has this same legal right. Imagine, we would get to elect 8 more Senators. The number of representatives would stay the same.

If the long haired, left wing, pseudo intellectual, hairy legged femi-nazi, pinko, commie, bedwetters make us mad enough, we might just do it. [Imus started it ]

Hey! My legs are shaved and I don't wet the bed, thank you very much. Oh, and my hair is short. Actually I'm none of those other things...Hmmm...where am I, what am I doing here?

What could we name those states? What an interesting dilemma...

BBBWWWAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAHHHHHHHAAA!!!!

Actually I never saw it.

But I heard he slaughtered it pretty good.

I'm sure the Zydeco was real.

I've never heard a Hollywood actor get it right but once.

A movie called Belizare the Cajun. The STUD character from 16 candles was in it and he had me guessing if he was Hollywood or a local. He's unrecognizable so I didn't find out until later. He did pretty d@mn good.

I am shocked, shocked that BC didn't say something about New Orleans as a marginal part of Acadiana. It is all those Italian types, I have been told.

I consider New Orleans Creole. There's still plenty of Cajun communities surrounding it, but the city has turned into it's own animal. The outside influences are much more pronounced in New Orleans. There is a huge Italian population there. Missionaries from Boston also came down and the mix created the New Orleans accent. We call them YATS. As in "Where Y'at dahlin." I have some friends that are hard core YATS and its hilarious to hear them talk even being from here.

It's basically a mix of African, Carribean, French, Spanish, and Italian.

Very interesting culture.

. . . And the Little Man ran things there for decades from his tomato farm base south of the city. I am gonna get the movie if NetFlix has it. At least I can hear the sound track by Doucet, who is as good as it gets.

Drop me an email sometime.

Hey BC, I figured there was too many Texans in this thread, had to add another [censored]@ss!

I agree with BC, New Orleans is an animal of it's own...just from my experience...they even think different there...

Okay, I'll be nice... (telling self)
