I, 2long, being of sound mind and body, do not wish to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means. Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands of politicians who couldn't pass ninth-grade biology if their lives depended on it, or can't admit we share a common ancestor with our fellow primates, or lawyers/doctors interested in simply running up bills and wasting my kids' beer money. If a reasonable amount of time passes and I fail to ask for at least one of the following:

Arrogant Bas2rd Ale
Ruby Mountain Amber Ale
Pizza (I like pinneapple on mine, unless it's real Italian pizza, in which case they know how 2 make it without me asking)
Mexican food
The keys 2 my Model A
My telescope
More Arrogant Bas2rd Ale

It should be presumed that I won't ever get better. When such a determination is reached, I hereby instruct my appointed person and attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the tubes and call it a day.

But here's the real test: Give him a Bud instead. If he does not complain, put him out of his misery - and we drink the Arrogant Bas2ds.

2long, if ever you're in these parts I can introduce you to some old, local ales :

Mad O'Rourkes little Lumphammer Ale
Bishop's Finger Ale
Waggle Dance Honey Ale
Theakston's Old Peculiar ( 8% alcohol )

All in walking distance of my house. They're more "ale-y" than American "ales", but I think perhaps you might appreciate them, sir

BUT Wwe don't serve them warm. Ever.

We just don't submerge them in liquid nitrogen before drink them

Here's one a friend sent me the other day with the subject line, "Living Will"...

Quote
Last night, my wife and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her, "I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug."

She got up, unplugged the TV and then threw out my beer.

She's Such A B!tch!

Gotta keep laughing, right?

Yep, I've had Bishop's Finger, and request a copy when my DD and SIL go back 2 Cardiff 2 visit his folks. Had Old Peculiar, 2. A Haven't had the others, I don't think.

Arrogant Bas2rd is 7.2%. They have a Double Bas2rd Ale that's over 11%, if you can believe that. It's 2 pungent for my usual tastes, though. But very efficient!

Good ales taste good even if they're not from the fridge.

OK Bob,

What I want to know is, what is a lumphammer?

2long,

Have you been to Stone's new brewery/restaurant/pub in Escondido?

Quite the layout. And the mac & cheese is a treat.

No, I haven't. But I do get down in that neck of the woods once or 2wice a year, so maybe I'll take a side jaunt for a couple hydraulic sandwiches next time!

When I worked in Palo Alto a decade ago I spent some happy times in the Empire Tap Room drinking all kinds of ESB ales.

Evenings never to be remembered.

I wonder if Pearl's Oyster bar is still there ? great food.

Sounds like wearing goggles and gloves is recommended then.

You should ask AMM if the Pearl is still open. She lives there now.

ed: err, in Palo Alto, not in the Pearl. I don't think so, anyway.

Looks like a sledge hammer 2 me.

I had a really nice 3 lb. sledge until my son absconded it for his blacksmithing.
