My H was recently injured ... minor thank the good Lord ... and was flown to safety by a US medivac team. You can guess who has MY thanks forever!!!
So for all of you in the USA or from the US may this weekend be not only a remembrance of all who have and are right now serving their country, but also be one where you remember those who serve by enjoying the things they fought for, that they fight for still.
The simple things like playing with your kids, fishing, baseball, picnics, and the freedom to do those and many other things that make life enjoyable in relative safety.

For those of you who have sons or daughters, husbands or wives, brothers. sisters and friends, maybe even mums or dads, serving now, perhaps deployed, just make sure you let them know you love them and will forever no matter what the future brings.
I'm not sure who way back when originally said it but its true today as then, freedom is anything but free. They who served and serve now pay as do their families & friends.

So in even in the midst of M & relationship pain I pray you may remember happy thoughts and tender memories and enjoy the weekend.

Life may feel as if you are constantly getting kicked on a daily basis, living is about picking yourself up each day and going on and on and on regardless.

Thank you aussieswife,

My H and I are both 20yr veterans and our oldest daughter will soon join the Navy. We also have an abundance of nieces/nephews in the military currently.

Thank you to all our fellow military folks for your patriotism and dedication to freedom.

My son just came home from Iraq a couple of weeks ago. I am so thankful for his safe return! We are spending our time just ENJOYING him.

I'm glad your H was not more seriously injured. My son's unit took many casualites while in Fallujah so this year, and forever, Memorial Day will have an entirely different meaning to me.
