We're a young couple, maybe too young. I'm 18, and he's 20. We were naive, and thought the whole marriage thing was just basically like a more comitted dating thing. Of, course we were wrong.

This is not a typical marriage for another reason. I was pregnant when we got married, and the baby wasn't his, he knew, but still wanted to have me for his wife.

The baby was born and the problems started. We started getting into agruments about how the baby should see the real daddy. He pays child support and wants to see her twice a week. I thought it was okay, but not my husband. He threw a fit. He's even saying he wants to walk out on me.

To make things worse, my birth control failed again, and im pregnant. I don't know what to do. He's over seas and it seems that this is really the end for us.

Is there any hope?

(I know if you answer you may feel the need to be mean about it, but please don't. I'm already a ball of tears.)

K, we won’t be mean just for the fun of it. Don’t beat yourself up.

You said your husband is overseas. Is he in the military? If so, I know there are some support structures in the military, so you may want to avail yourself of them.

I think you can see why your husband doesn’t want his child to see its bio-dad. It’s threatening. Older, and possibily wiser, people have had issues when it comes to parent/child and former relationships. See if you can get access to the Other Child section. While your situation didn’t come from an affair, it’s similar in that your husband is raising a child that’s not of his own begetting. Maybe, when he gets back, you two can discuss him adopting the baby. You’d give up the child support payments, but it may be best for your marriage and the child.

If you want to get a lot of responses, post on the emotional needs board. If you’re a military wife, make sure to say so, even in the title. There are some military spouses over there.

God bless you and your husband.
