It was also 40 years ago this year that the "Flower Power Love Child" movement began.
Peace baby. Far out.

Gray
listen to in on VINYL. My decades old year old copy still excites me, the CD feels a bit flat by comparison.
Just IMO.
magnificent album
My Brother is 16 year older than me. I grew up listening to my Mom and dad's 40's Jazz and my Brothers Beatles, stones, etc.
I never stood a chance
BTW I saw McCartney in the eighties when he first played the beatles songs live.
Broke my heart it did. Wonderful.
great thread. thanks !!!

Bob, I got to see Sir Paul back in '92 when he was here in the States.
It was one of the most wonderful events of my life. When he sang "Maybe I'm Amazed", I do believe my knees buckled. *sigh*

Bob - was thinking about snatching up a vinyl copy on my way home, no kidding. The only one I have in vinyl is the white album.
I can see where "Let It Be" would take you apart that way. I'm dying to hear the super E chord from "A Day In The Life" thru my speakers. Tick, tock.

A Day in the Life is my favourite and I can't stand Lovely Rita. I remember having to endure that song because unlike CD's, you couldn't skip the tracks you didn't care for. Wow, 40 years ago. I am getting old.

I was 15. I was a private school girl with white knee socks and a plaid skirt and a green blazer.
My best friend bought the album and we gathered after school in her living room (all in our nerdy uniforms) and put the record on.
That's what people did then.
I remember it like it was yesterday. It just made such an impact on us all. We played it non stop all summer.
Going to play it right NOW.

I was a private school girl with white knee socks and a plaid skirt and a green blazer. Talk about a tease! That's fairly inappropriate for an infidelity site.

I was setting the scene. We were so nerdy in those uniforms. It just sticks in my mind that we were all in our school clothes. It was so incongruous with the "summer of love" and all that was going on in the world.

Life may feel as if you are constantly getting kicked on a daily basis, living is about picking yourself up each day and going on and on and on regardless.
