Men marry for sex and companionship and to have someone shop for them so they never have to buy presents for their FOO again.

Oh, and because they don't like the clothes their mothers buy for them and they lack the ability to select their own. (My x had less fashion sense than a green pea. I shudder to think about it.)

I asked my husband why he wanted to get married and this is what he said:
1. Cannot see myself with anyone else but you.
2. Could not see you with anyone else but me.
3. You are the perfect wife.
4. Great Sex
5. Great Cook
6. You are the only woman I have ever or will ever love.

Hmmmm - and then he had an affair? Go figure

seriously, I think men who marry fall head over heels in love, and want to spend the rest of their lives with the person they are in love with. Marriage affords them a sense of commitment.
