I am nervous, I dont want to be a bad wife. My hubby needs a surgery, he goes to the surgeon on the 17th to schedule it. He has 5 herniated/bulging discs.

Now I want to be a good wife and take care of him but hospitals are very hard for me. The only times I've been there were the last time I saw my parents alive and then last year when my son got hurt. I was alone on the operating floor, not 1 person was there (it was around 8pm not even a nurse, I was literally the only person), it was dark and to say the least scared me. I dont know how to get over this?

I know Hubby needs me there, not to be nervous or scared since I'm sure he will be a bit as well.

Any advice?

Take a friend or adult relative with you.

What kind of hospital would not have staff visible?

L I have no idea.. this is the best childrens hospital around so I didnt expect it. There were tons of people, nurses around until we went upstairs to the operating floor. When they took him into the OR they told me to wait in the waiting room. It was the only lit room on the floor.. but waiting for your injured 3yr old isnt easy (hubby was home with our other child at this point) I paced the dark hallways and it was the most defening silence I ever heard. When they came out to get me they startled me, just him walking sounded SO loud <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the advice, I think I will see if someone can go with me (I need my MIL for a sitter for our children)
