Can you add one more option to the list of options? The one I want to vote for isn't there. Please add:

MAZ, thanks for the birthday wishes and the kind offer. We did escape Dallas around 7:00 and have made it back to Houston. Sounds like y'all have had more than your fair share of rain this week.

Happy Birthday, Mel!!!!!!

As far as voting, I voted

Old as dirt
"Get out of jail free card", from Melodies 2x4's
50 50 50 50 50

Don't give your age another thought, you age marvelllllooooooooously, just like fine wine. EXCEPT, for those days where you taste more like vinegar than wine.

Hey, everybody is allowed a few of those days.

quote from the movie "Annie"

"We Love You, Miss Hannigan (subsitute Mel)!!!!!!!!!!!"

Happy Belated Birthday, Mel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't vote, as I didn't want the answers to someday come back to haunt me.

All this talk about Texas reminds me of a time I was riding a bus from Atlanta to eastern NC. Sitting in the bus terminal is ALWAYS fun in Atlanta, but this time was real interesting. Whenever I took the bus, I always made sure I had no money on me, and was as scruffy as possible to avoid interest from people.

So, sitting in the McD's there in the terminal, a guy comes up to use my table...the place is packed. I'm reading and eating, so sure. We strike up a conversation, he's headed out on the same bus I am...cool.

We get on the bus, he asks if he can borrow a book for the ride, I'm happy to oblige.

We get to talking, I let him know I'm in the service on leave, headed to see my wife. He tells me that he was just released from prison in Tx. I think about it for a minute, and ask what he was in for. He replies, "Murder. And before you ask, yes I did it. I came home, and found my wife in bed with another man. I shot him, he died a few days later.". I thought about it for a minute, and said "OK, can understand that. Doesn't look like I'm in any danger.", and I laugh.

He replies, "Nope, not unless you happen to know my wife.".

I laugh, and ask where he's headed.

He tells me, "Florida...that's where my wife's at now."

I told him that I'd heard enough, he could keep the book, and good luck to him!!!

True story...happened back in 1988. Says a lot about Texans too!

Which would help explain perhaps why I avoided the polls?
