MEDC:

Looks like you got another thread locked.

Never compare the billing rate for Medicare and/or the allowable reimbursement rates by insurance companies, to the rates charged by compentent professionals.

I send out a invoice for $185, I expect to be paid $185.

But in the medical field, the doctor sends a bill for $185 and Medicare, HMO's, Medicaid, insurance companies, Etc, DETERMINE HOW MUCH THEY ARE GOING TO PAY.

If a client called me up after the fact, or had some middleman after the fact say that they were going to pay me $112.31 for that service, I would tell them to jump in the lake.

Not dealing with insurance reimbursements for thier services is a needed and necessary business decision being made by medical professionals everywhere. I recommend it to my clients. A local doctor client of mine has to deal with over 500 different medical plans for his patients. Can you even imagine the number of insurance plans and reimbursement methods that WH, SH, JC, and others on thier staff would have to support?

And if you have problems with thier billing, take it off of thier forum.

I've called you out on that before. THIS IS THIER BALLFIELD.

If you do not like the rules they set up, then take your toys elsewhere.

Make sure you pay the fee next time you log in....

Oh, sorry there wasn't one.....

You got a thread locked? ALL BY YOURSELF? Wow! What kind of conversation were you having with yourself?

It is the way of the world... people with more money typically have access to better lawyers, better doctors, better therapists. Doctors and therapist have the choice to take medicaid, or not take medicaid. No one forces them, especially if the company is privately owned and not a government entity.

I think the Harley's have some great principles for helping married couples who find themselves in trouble. They may not work for all, but it's a good jumping off point.

And LG is right... it costs money to run a forum this large, yet it is free to post on.

LG... your post is somewhat uninformed. After the police dept I spent 10 years in managed care (USHC and then Aetna when we were bought).... I worked as an advocate for the primary care and specialists in the plans.... I still do. I then spent two years with Pfizer. I now do work with a healthcare based non profit(my brother is the founder and also has the largest family practice in SE PA) as well as practice consulting for billing/charting/quality issues. I think I have a pretty good handle on the issues I brought up.

What your thoughts on it are your opinion...I offered mine. As far as my getting the thread locked, LG, that is not worthy of comment. And what you call me on is of NO significance to me. And as far as you telling me to go elsewhere...again, no significance LG.

FYI:
Most health professionals DECIDE whether or not to participate in any given health plan/network (ie. they can choose whether or not to be a Medicare provider...)

By agreeing, they are agreeing to that rate structure.

They can also choose to NOT participate. And that can be for reasons like LG stated, too many administrative nightmares/too many carriers/the extra cost administratively to deal with claims and fighting to get paid.

Every health care professional is entitled to operate their business as they see fit. Supply/Demand. The Harley's seem to have no trouble with their business model.

Its unfortunate that not everyone can afford them. But not everyone can afford a Lexus either. Doesn't mean the company has to change the price....

I agree Lexxxy....100% I don't think they should change their fees. If they can get the money for the service, they should do so.

And as I said on the other thread, I am in awe of their business model. I think it is great.

BTW...one of the mods saw fit to change the name of the thread from Believer to a title they felt was more fitting. I guess Believer was too controversial.

I agree with ya MEDC.
Its a fantastic business model.
And a fantastic service.

Funny how ML never apologized for misquoting you; only went on a tirade looking for "facts"......whatever....

I think the exact words I used were I am in awe of the business acumen. I would call it something different if it were a minstry... but from a business standpoint, it is off the charts great.

Yup.
I also do a great deal of community service -- which I consider part of my career. It enhances my reputation, allows me to network -- and increases my PAYING clients.
But I do not consider my "free services" a ministry.
It is certainly my passion and what I am "called" to do, but I do it for practical and financial reasons....

(disclaimer: I am not stating this is what Steve, Jennifer, Willard, or Joyce are doing. It is what *I* do.)

Because I didn't misquote him so he will get no apology from me.

Well I think you did:

Here are your words from 2 of your posts:
Quote
It is unbelievably INSULTING and UNTRUE to believe for a minute that Dr. Harley HOPES people will have affairs so he can make a BUCK. How dare you say something like that.

And…

How low class of you to come on this forum, that is paid for by the Harleys, and insult them as charlatans. How unbelievably insulting.

MEDC said neither of these things....

ML; I admire you, but I gotta call BS on this one.

What thread? The title of this thread is "Believer." Is that not what you named it?

Thank you Lexxxy. I appreciate you standing up for honesty here instead of on email (not that I don't appreciate those too).

As far as the thread name, I changed it back to Believer.

Bullcrap, here is what he said:

MEDC:" The harley's make a lot of money(and good for them) by having nice little catch phrases about how every marriage is vulnerable to infidelity."

Making up little catch phrases for the purpose of making money off infidelity is EXACTLY what he implied. That would be the behavior of a CHARLETAN.

MEDC:

I recall you perceiving me in the past as being passive-aggressive so I think you will understand where I am going with this.

Were you speaking KINDLY and FAVORABLY about the HARLEYS in your post? You may not have used the specific words that MEL has stated but your post did come across as if that is what you were saying.

I can't speak for MEL but I feel real SPIRITUAL about the HARLEYS and the MBer's approach and criticism of them touches my SOUL.

Can you understand a person feeling that strongly about something? I suspect that you do. I recall you crying about the death of your cat.

I CRIED OUT TO MEL..in utter desperation..and she was THERE..because of THIS VERY FORUM...

I will NEVER handle statements such as yours about this philosophy WELL...

I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.

It's time to put Mel and her manipulations on ignore.

Lexxxy, those are my words that Mel quoted... there was no implication.... I said what I meant, no implication required. BTW... catch phrases are something to grab someone... no one said that the person saying them doesn't believe it. And the Harley's make a lot of money off of infidleity... just as lawyers make a lot off of divorces. More power to them if they can accomplish that and help some people at the same time.
