Regarding our discussion of a GOOD MAN turning BAD, I just read this today in the book THE ART OF SEDUCTION. This really fits for MY HUSBAND...I'll share in case anyone else is interested. This book is FASCINATING...'cause I have said that he wanted to take a "walk on the wild side" in his midlife crisis...eventually went to live in the "ghetto"..some know the story...

Quote
The outlets for male bad behavior..have faded away; today, not just women but men are supposed to be eminently civilized and reasonable. And many have a hard time living up to this. As children we are able to vent the darker side of our characters, a side that all of us have. But under pressure from society, we slowly repress the naughty, rebellious, perverse streaks in our characters. To get along, we learn to repress our dark sides, which become a kind of lost self, a part of our psyche buried beneath our polite appearance.

As adults , we secretly want to recapture that lost self-the more adventurous, less respectful, childhood part of us. We are drawn to those who live out their lost selves as adults, even if it involves some evil or destruction...

(so the author says to THE SEDUCER)..involve them in sin, crime, taboo activity, whatever it takes. Unleash the lost self within them; the more they act it out, the deeper your hold over them. Going halfway will break the spell and create self-consciousness. Take it as far as you can.

Mimi:

Sorry the original thread got locked....Some good stuff over there.

Flamingo commented to me this morning:

"I'm so glad you decided to have an affair with ME!"

This after we dug aroung in the garden for several hours, then went skinny-dipping to cool off!

Then wine and cheese in the Hot-Tub!

Danger.....

Can make all the difference in the world....

Mimi, get your man to read "wild at heart" by John Eldredge.

It was a transforming book for THIS silverback male.

BTW, my Mom said Character was built by how we deal with our mistakes far more than how few we make.

Mimi, would you consider helping me? I have upset some of the other pros on here, I have tried to address their concerns but I don't think they believe me. Would you please look at my thread and see if you can offer any advice? I will answer any and all questions you or others have. And I will not intrude on your thread again with my own issues. Thank you.
