Hi cg-
Let me see if I understand the situation. Your husband asked for a divorce and said he loved you but was not in love with you. That is a standard phrase that many spouses use when they are involved in an affair.
Did he say he was willing to go to counseling? That's a good sign. If he is unwilling to go to counseling, you may need to start snooping and see if he is involved with someone else.
Because he is in the Navy, I assume he is gone for periods of time. I have lived in a city with a Navy Home Port and those sailors are gone up to 6 months at a time. I now live near another Navy town-an Air Station, and many of those sailors stay put, working on the airplanes etc. It is very possible that he has met someone in his unit or where he is currently deployed. If he is involved in an affair, then you will be able to use his chain of command to put pressure on it to stop. Also, this is a site about trying to recover M's from infidelity. There is a lot of support here.
The first thing I would advise you to do is read the information on the side of this site under the Most Popular Links. Start with the Most Important Emotional Needs. Also, read Dr. Harley's Basic Concepts and Love Busters.
I will put a call out on the General Questions thread for some veterans who may know how to find out if your H is in an A. Things can be slow here on week-ends. Keep checking and read the links.

Are you still around? You should post your original questions on the General Questions thread. You will get more traffic there. Lots of veterans who can give you more advice.
