Any ideas on timing/location? I have the EOW thing free and can drive. And I need to drive up to NH to pick up some furniture from a friend either this month or next. So I'll be along the way somewhere. Of course, if anyone wants to meet in NYC, that would be a fun location.

what does labor day weekend look like for people? i now am free since gekko cancelled our plans and have an extra 400 or so dollars to spend if i need to spend the night somewhere, my half of paying for our trip that is now not happening.
i probably should find something to do that weekend so i don't just sit around thinking of what i would have been doing.
yea, that's sarcasm. yup, i'm a little feisty and angry this fine morning. so girls, if we make plans, don't let me down! i have been let down enough these past few weeks, i can't take much more rejection!

I'm returning from my one week of vacation (without kids) on Labor Day weekend. So I can't commit to then.
Praying that X doesn't mess this up, since he refuses to communicate with me or tell me when he's bringing the kids home.
MHLB: How far are you from "the city"?
Other suggestions: The outlet malls just north of NYC?

i am about 6 hours from "the city" but could grab a commuter plane to there pretty easily from our local airport if someone would be there to pick me up!

yea, not sure what i will do over labor day weekend now.. maybe i can hook up a couple of friends for something. when gekko called me last week and wanted to do that weekend (i still cannot believe he was so excited about that and then changes his mind in the middle of the week. i have got to address that with my therapist!) anyway, when we made the plans i immediately called the vet for the dogs to be boarded and emailed my ex for him to have the kids. so, he got the time off to have them and now that the trip is cancelled he won't let me have the kids now that weekend.
so... i need to make some plans some how so i am not bumming about what i was supposed to be doing. maybe i can hook up with my family or something. i refuse to just sit around that weekend now.

Or you could drive down to the beach. That always seems to perk people up.

We've (my daughters and I) have been talking about maybe taking a road trip to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine (the only three states I haven't been to)...
But I'm not sure about the time or $ to pull it off this year... maybe next year?

I took my girls to NH and Maine over July 4th. OK, so we only saw the outlet malls in Maine, but, they were in ME (for about 1 hour).
Where is central for people to meet?
Fall (sept./oct) in the NE we would content with the leafpeepers. But then, there are some beautiful places to see.

did you go to kittory? LOVE KITTORY!
if we can't get everyone together newly, you and i can probably definitelly hook up anytime as we are not that far apart.
how is albany, ny for people? that is about 2.5-3 hours for me. burlington, vt is about 2 hours.
speak up , speak up!

i might be interested. it's so hard to plan a couple days in advance right now, really hoping things will settle down when school starts for a regular schedule but if a location/date is proposed, i'll make a decision <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> nyc is always tons of fun. outlet shopping in maine, that brings back memories. my family used to vacation there every summer as i was growing up.
edit: i'm just a bit north of albany - i'd definately be in for that

name some places close to you... i don't know if we necessarily plan an overnight. maybe just a big old lunch for us all to meet! nyc will require a plane ride for me... probably can catch a commuter...
would prefer albany.

Albany in the fall could be a nice outing for some of us.

Wow, you want us to commit?
I have non-kid weekends on Sept. 7th & 21st (one of which I need to drive to NH so I'll be somewhere along I 95 between NYC & NH).
Other Suggestions?
I was thinking Springfield or Pittsfield Mass might be options too.
