NO TIME TO BE CLEVER....but here are the posts leading up to this thread:

On my Smiles and Trials Recovery Thread, I asked Limbo:

Quote
Is it time for us to discuss a new name for you? Limbo Land just suggests a bit of a negative connotation in my mind, at least. I just posted on a newbie's thread the quote from Prov. 23:7.....as a woman thinketh in her heart, so is she.....(my deviation!). Do you still think of yourself as being in limbo? Technically we all are, but I don't want to dwell on that fact.

Shall we start a 'suggestion list of new name ideas for Limbo'?

Just say so and I have a few thoughts.

Again, thanks for checking in with me. You're right, the sun does shine brightly now and then. The clouds (and fog) are often a figment of our frustrations, too.

Glad you're doing better.

Acey

She replied:

Quote
Sure, Acey, I'm open to new names. A list of suggestions would be fun.

DDAY # 1, 8/5/05 -- discovered emails while we were in Europe on our 25th anniversary trip
DDay # 2, end of April, '06-- NC supposedly accomplished, but in the process learned about a PA with another OW in 2000
D-day # 3-- 2/26/07
NC letter 3/16/07
Counseling with SH 3/07 to present
8/4/07 DDAY #4 "I love you and I don't want a divorce, but I care for her, too."

If you've followed (or check out) her thread "D Day 4 Today" you'll see her struggle but I've left her timeline as a reminder.

SOOOOOOO......I have some thoughts, but decided to post this for her on GQII to see what others think.

[color:"green"] Should In_Limbo_Land change her name now that she does not want to be 'in limbo' any longer?

If so, what are ideas for a new name for her?

Here are some ideas if you want to stay with some semblence of association with "In Limbo Land":

[color:"brown"]Solid Landing

[color:"blue"]Landing Strong

[color:"red"]Land of _____

[color:"green"] Inland _____

[color:"purple"]OutLANDish
but that abbrev. would be 'OLD'....naaahhhh

So there are a few similar ideas.

Whatdayathink?

I originally wanted to be "LaLaLand" because of the whole alien abduction issue.

Now, I dunno.

I'm still too much on the precipice to be able to tell how this is going to come out. But agree that 2 years in Lmbo might just become a self fulfilling prophecy.

No particular attachment to the "land" terminology.

SolidGround?

Community input would be great here.

HopingForHeaven seems a more optimistic interpretation of Limbo... (Although I seem to remember that you can't get to heaven from Limbo, is that right?)

Out_on_a_limbo *just kiddin*

TA....limbo was the place unbaptized babies went for eternity (not by doctrine, just common teaching) ....but the Catholic church no longer embraces it. At one time, being born with original sin presented a problem for the unbaptized....but there is no mention of limbo in the modern church.

Butterfly...

Perhaps Danaus plexxipus..The Monarch Butterfly.

For short we could call you Plexxi...

Or Lepidoptera.

Or Pieridae...Perry for short...

OK. I'll leave now...

hmmm. I like the metamorphosis theme, and I like Mark's scientific naming.

But I am more of a honeybee than a butterfly.

Apis florea? (Dwarf Honey Bee)

Apis cerana? (Eastern Honey Bee)

So far, we have

Chrysalis

Apis mellifera (got to be geographically correct, y'know.)

I could be "Apey" to Acey's "Acey."

But I like the hope and promise implied in "chrysalis".

More community input welcome.

Make it simple and short. Remember you have to type it in when needed.

You could be a Chrysalis (underdeveloped state) Plus (fresh and new beginning) and use CP for a nickname.

Chrysalis Plus could have unlimited connotations actually....but it would exude a positive focus and energy.

I like Chrysalis but agree with Orchid that it's a bit cumbersome to type.....heck, she uses "L" so she doesn't have to type Orchid!

(Abbreviating it to "Chrys" might work, tho)

Adding another word to signify future potential would give you another letter for initials.

Ace

P.S. Hey L., my orchid is still [color:"purple"] blooming....all four blossoms....for nearly a month!

P.S.S. How about CB for Chrysalis Blossom?

Still thinking. Notes from Wikipedia....

Chrysalis-- Within the chrysalis, growth and differentiation occur. The adult butterfly emerges from this and expands its wings

or

Cocoon...Cocoons may be tough or soft, opaque or translucent, solid or meshlike, of various colors, or composed of multiple layers...Insects that pupate in a cocoon must escape from it.
