Ok, I will admit I laughed out loud the first time I put that in. (I crack myself up sometimes, lololol.)

It was also fun to occasionally throw some little tidbit in just for kicks, meant to be taken out before the final draft. Example: (Zebedee speaking) "I miss my wife, by gummy!"

I think you had to climb up to get to Jericho, which would've put it on the top of a mesa, where you would need comfort...and you were able to get it at the inn on the "table". Basic English. Or Spanish. Or Hebrew. Something...<img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Let me tell you what happens when she gets clever in her writing, and then forgets to take it out before the book goes to the printer...She was supposed to write out her biography for the back of her first book, to go along with her picture. The publisher asked for her curriculum vitae, including awards, etc. She didn't have any of which to boast, Wiseacre of the 6th Grade not being the sort of thing they were hoping for, so she wrote that her "only awards were in diaper changing, toilet cleaning, and the county speed record in vacuuming," thinking they'd take it out and gussy things up before publishing it. Au contraire, my dear Kimmy. Au contraire. The only thing they did was change "toilet" to "commode," and printed it in its entirety. Teach her to be cute with editors! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> I noticed that her author's blurb she wrote for her 2nd book was much more sedate. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Hey, how come I didn't get a copy of your new book Neak? I can read, too.

I have to really concentrate when I'm reading what Kimmy or any of the Neaksies are writing, but I can still often figure it out, given enough time and floating question marks hoveling about my head.

Actually I didn't know you had a new book out, because I never read your threads, I tend to stick to gray's campfire where people write a bit slower. LOL

Hi Weaver--Not trying to drum up business, really, but here are the 2 books Neak has written, and the children's book Neak and Neaksis wrote together, in a manner of speaking. Neak's first book was the story of Jesus, as seen through the eyes of his enemies, chiefly Malchus, the high priest's number one servant (he's mentioned in 2 Bible texts, so getting a whole book out of his life required a certain degree of creativity!). Neakbro's picture was the model used for the cover, very loosely. The second book is about Peter, which is Jesus as seen through the eyes his friends. Each story can be read separately and be complete, but taken together, as the characters wander back and forth between the two books, it makes a very interesting picture of the life of Christ. The third book is for grade school children, and the theme is learning to trust God.

They can be bought on Amazon or other sites, but Kimmy wanted one from Neak since, for the same price, she could get a genuinely-autographed copy by the author, who quit scrubbing toilets and catching mice long enough to sign the book and get it out the door. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

You know, I read Depak Chopra's "Buddha" not too long ago, which is the life of Buddha in story form as told by Chopra, and it was such a good, fun book to read.

I'm going to get these, too, Neak. I loved reading about Jesus as a child.

One year, somebody who was never named, sent a movie DVD about Jesus' life to every single home in the U.P. Thousands of copies, can you imagine?

Anyway, my daughter must have watched that movie 25 times. She loved it.

Don't tell anyone, but I loooooove children's books still. Oh, I read some grown-up ones, too, but my favorites are all the kiddie books I read when I was little.

It has been lots of fun to read Neaksis' latest project, a series of 10 Old Testament stories from the time of Adam to the time of Moses. One was so extra-good that I begged her to pull it from the series and turn it into its own book. She has pulled it, and now I am just waiting for the book. Tap tap tap.

Any time you run out of Bible stories let me know, as there are a bunch (that I didn't write) that are really good, too. Mom just loaned me a new one about the woman at the well.

Argh, the kids' teacher got our appointments mixed up, so I'm going to have to dash sooner than I thought. (Neaksis said, "I don't mind it when she messes up our appointments, but I do mind when she blames us for it." LOL!) She told Neaksis 11:30 a while ago, told me 1:30 a week ago, then called to leave a message for the 11:30 appointment asking where we were??? Got to feed Gramps wikiwiki before I can leave, too.
