Melody, I have read hundreds (probably thousands) of your posts, but have yet to find your story, in a nutshell. Is there a link where I could find it? Thanks so much.
I recently asked the same thing of Neak, and was up all night reading. It was fascinating, inspiring, and educational.
Is there a special place on these boards that has most everyone's stories?

setfree, I never had such a thread when I first came here because I was 7 months past D-day and 7 months into recovery. I think I have told bits and pieces of it over several threads over the years, but never in just one place.

OK, thank you for letting me know. If you think of a post that gives a lot of your story, please link me. You seem like a very strong woman and I would be interested in how you got there.

setfree, I got married in April of 2000 and found out a few months later that my new H was carrying on an internet affair with an old girlfriend. [he was planning on going to see her] Since I just married him, I realized I had made a terrible mistake and kicked him out. My judgment was horribly impaired because of other personal tragedies when I agreed to marry him and I knew I had made a mistake. He was very remorseful and asked if he could come back and go to marriage counseling.
I figured I would go to counseling with him a couple of times before I gave the "bum" the "bum's rush." That would make it look like I tried, I figured.
We ended up at a counselor in our town that used only Marriage Builders principles, unbeknownst to me. [there are others here who were sent by him too] My H made an amazing transformation from that experience because he became a Christian and because we learned about MB.
So, here I am almost 7 years later in a great marriage where we are both in love with each other because of MB principles.

Also, after I allowed him back he told me he didn't ever want to see my mother and sister again because they knew about the affair and because my sister said she "hated his guts."
I decided that I would choose my family over this bum so he could either suck it up like a man and apologize to them or hit the road. He chose the former and they are all great friends today. I admire and respect him for making it up to my mother. She just adores him and he adores her! They email each other daily with their corny jokes. [they are both joke forwarders and get great enjoyment out of this! ]
My H is no longer a BUM, but a good, decent, man of honor who faced the consequences and did what it took to repair the damage he caused. I have enormous love and respect for him today. And he is cute!

Melody, I'm glad your story has a happy ending. Well, I guess it hasn't ENDED yet, but you know what I mean!
