Please take time to remember our men and women around the world that are deployed, and remember the sacrifice of those who have given their all on this special day...

And most of all, please, if you know a deployed soldier, sailor, airman, or marine that has a family, ...please thank the family for their service too.

Semper Fi,

RIF

RIF our service at Church today included an earnest prayer of thanks for those serving today, those who ever served in our cause and for the fallen.

Our thanks to Almighty God for this warrior breed that delivered and protect our freedom at such great cost.

At our church today, the members, past and present, of the Armed Forces were well remembered. There was a prayer for blessings for them. For safety. For peace. Throughout the lands.

RIF my heartfelt wishes to you and all the various men and women serving today.

We had a ceremony at 11am, very moving, very emotional. But I feel in a good way. Bought our red Poppy as always.

We wives put on lunch for the blokes not deployed right now, they quickly drank far more than is good for anyone and started 'singing' using the word loosely , and the lyrics got quite rude . but I didn't believe one word about the Navy and Marines, honest!

Then we had to get Liz across town to perform in the Legacy concert. Legacy is the org that looks after war widows and their children. So we are always rasing money. They deserve the best we can do.

So we had a full day

Life may feel as if you are constantly getting kicked on a daily basis, living is about picking yourself up each day and going on and on and on regardless.

RIF and other active servicepersons & vets,

DS13 came home from school Friday and asked that we hold a minute of silence for our deceased loved ones who have served in the military. His 2 grandfathers, uncle, and great-grandfather (I have 3 of 4 of the military uniforms entrusted to me) His teacher had a son go through 3 deployments in Afghanistan, and has spent good time teaching a classroom of autistic/otherwise challenged kids respect for those who serve.

Just wanted you to know that some very special children thank you for your service today.

Freedom is only free to those who believe in their right to live as they choose without having to think about how they get that choice.

I'm very grateful to all who have served. My family has had several.

We who have & had family in the military know the price paid by our loved ones.

I thank God every day for my freedom & for those fighting to keep me free.

Hi RIF,

Belated cheers to you for Vets Day. I have been trying to cut back a bit on my MB Forum time. Sometimes hearing the tragic new stories really takes me back in time.

Small note, there was a piece in the Washington Post on one of the THREE remaining US WWII veterans still living. He is 106 and was at a ceremony on Vets Day at the Pershing Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.

Amazing.

Please stay safe ... we RAMF's appreciate your sacrifice!

I do believe those were WW One(I) vets if I'm not mistaken.

I now adhere to Andy Rooneys great quote:

"The greatest classroom in the world can be found at the feet of an elderly person."

All Blessings,
