After my d-day, I essentially "banned" internet connections and cellphones from my family. I post from work.

I realize that if they're gonna cheat, they're gonna cheat, but if they're gonna, I'm going to make it as difficult as I can.

You know, I haven't missed it one bit. I see people who endlessly talk on cellphones in public, play "World of Warcraft" for hours on end, and text like a monkey on crack, and I actually feel fortunate that I'm not "jacked in".

Am I odd for not caring at all about the internet and cellphones? Maybe I'm getting old, but I actually see more negatives with these things than positives.

I feel that people as a society are too connected. While it may prevent conversation that can be a plus or a negative. A plus in that they're not talking to "dangerous" people. a negative because they're not conversing and learning things from people from all walks of life. It's a double edged sword.

This is coming from a former EQ/WoW junkie. After the D-Day a couple of months ago I can't even play video games anymore. There's like some sort of barrier preventing me and making me sick when I try.

Now she will go and get a pay-as-you-go phone.

Not in our single-income household where money is incredibly tight, and I bring home the bacon.

Cell phones make it real easy to get a fix of the OM's wonderful caring voice. W/out cell and email, OM has a much harder row to hoe, so to speak. Agree with Pariah, though. You ashcanned one cell phone, she just bought a secret one at Wal-Mart and probably keeps it in her car somewhere. Been there. Bust one source, another one pops up. Can't stop it unless she does.

Well Dr. Harley does say to remove the conditions that made the affair possible, so if those things were a MAJOR part of why the affair happened, then you are making wise choices I'd say...Just make sure that you remove ALL the conditions that made it possible...Work the MB program and it will work for you...

That being said, my own affair occured based on the classmates.com website and email...Now websites and email don't have affairs, people do, and MB has been a GODSEND to our marriage, it is where Mr. W and I spend almost all of our computer time...I can tell you that I would never visit classmates again and I have a real aversion to email...I have one account that is set up for shopping receipts/ebay transactions-Mr. W has the password to that account, and I also share an email account with him...I almost NEVER check it, in fact, I don't unless he tells me that something there requires my attention...I also HATE, HATE, HATE text messaging-in the affair, I WAS your description "texting like a monkey on crack"-HILARIOUS description, btw <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Now if someone texts me, not only do I hate it, but it takes me FOREVER to even be able to respond-Bizarre how instantly adept I was at in the affair-BLECH...

Anyway...Sounds like your decisions are working well for you!
