Well, shucks, you were nice to me too at one point, and we all really did try to engage you on AD board. I really did wish that you'd answer some of the questions posed to you, about how long you were married, how old are your kids, who filed for divorce, etc etc - but you never responded. And then once you started with how everyone makes passes at you, well, my ears soured .
Anyway, peace, I am all for second chances.
One of my favorites has always been The Graduate - can you believe that I never really appreciated that it involved an affair, until my ex had one? Weird. I am not sure I can ever watch it again. And you?
AGG Hi AGG, I saw only bits and pieces of The Graduate. To me, it was just so creepy... it just grossed me out and I couldn't watch it. Now, how that can "translate" into what I've enjoyed recently... I don't know. This didn't gross me out... nor did I think it was creepy... I liked those "Resident Evil" movies. In them, it's sci fi, a virus takes over the earth and effectively kills people... but then "revives their most basic drive to eat... live people. lol Kind of a new wave sci fi zombie movie (I don't like zombie movies though)... but really, really well done and I liked it. Reminds of how I liked the Terminator movies. Matrix. Loved it. Those are the ones that quickly come to mind. I saw Polar Bear Express in the 3D kind of version recently. I mean, it was okay... but you know what? I just had a problem lying to my children. I never could tell them to believe in Santa Claus. Just didn't feel right. So mum was the word. I sure didn't say it was real... but I never said, "You know, kids, Santa is not real." So... didn't do much for me as far as the overall movie and all. But the 3D aspect was really a different experience. My son just saw Beowolf (probably spelled wrong) with some friends 3D. He saw it once with one friend... called up more... and went back and saw it again! So that's a "must see" in 3D. I'll have to go see that... if I can find time. Can't get the fire started. Igniter went out on my gas furnace this weekend... but I figured.... no big whoop... and I had a ton of business to do Monday... just had my son use the wood furnace (have 2)... and now I'm paying for that decision. I was hoping it could wait til Friday when I could be here all day to meet a repair guy whenever. I guess I'll have to come home during the day tomorrow... if I can to meet someone to take care of getting the furnace fixed. Went out over the weekend. Shouldn't be a big deal... and I thought I was all set... just keep the fire going... or have the son get it started... oops. My bad. Going to the store to buy a newspaper. Not to read... to use for ignition. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> God bless.

This really needs to stop.
It's sad to see this happening.
Cruel in a way.
Not just the enabling of inappropriate conversation...
Also the triggers...for Mrs. W...and
for the many of us have had to contend with ALIEN WSes...who oftentimes communicate this way...

I am willing to receive all input and advice and help on this personal matter.
I have a woodburning fireplace (actually it's a furnace in the basement hooked up to the air ducts). My son is spending the nite at a friend's house. I've never lit any logs on it. I don't know how. It's not working. I put paper in there... I tried to get it started... over and over and over again.
(Put another log on the fire!..... and tell me... a song)
Seriously, I have 3 logs in there... it's cold out tonite... and I want to start it... other than combustible gas (not a good suggestion... cause I am not mechanically inclined...)
what do I do differently or better?
I'll try surfing the net for answers too.
It's too late to call anyone, imo.
God bless.

The internet is awesome. I find a "how to start a log fire" page.
That should do it.
Thanks.

Now my furnace prob is keeping me up... getting ready to go to the gas station to buy a newspaper. Anyway, I don't think people "feed on" negativity.
This is what I think happens. It's kinda like a pinball machine. People find it hard to "stay centered" when someone unleashes (even in just trying to share their own struggles... expressing in the act of "opening up" - so the Lord then can touch them where they've been "balled up" (you know, curled up in a ball or something inside)... getting it off their chest... getting it outside of themselves.
It's hard just to listen. Pinball effect. Other people aren't strong enough inside to stand still with it... and react. They try to help, they this or that... but it's not really centered in Christ sometimes. It's reactionary.
I think this thread was active due to "pinball effect". People aren't really "feeding on it"... they are reacting out of human frailty.
If they were stronger... they'd stay in peace.

Next point. I personally truly believe the Word of God and prayer solves everything.
Why? Because it's the human soul that needs touched and healed thereby. The Word of God and prayer causes the Holy Spirit to knit God's love/God's Spirit inside our souls. This is healing. (Kinda like "stitches" sometimes... if someone has a hole in their heart. Stitches it up... calms, soothes, relieves... too.)
That's why it's so important to really get the Word right. Satan comes to steal the Word out of our heart. In so doing, he rips and tears at our souls. Creates "holes" in our hearts... wounding... so HIS pain and hurt can "pass through".
I think, for myself, I must have the Word right... the way I'm understanding it in application to my own situation. It's an ongoing thing of course. Have to keep studying and praying... meditating on the Word... hiding the Word in one's heart... because that "engrafts the Word by the Spirit".
It causes the Holy Spirit to meld on the inside of our souls and "lift out" all hurt and pain... as well as "sew us up". That's why He's our Healer and Comforter. It's by the Word and prayer... imo. (Sure there are other disciplines... but these are the top 2 to me.)
Do you know what the Holy Spirit being knit on the inside of our souls is to me?: CONFIDENCE.
Satan comes after our confidence. People "pinball" around trying to feel better on the inside... but that's not how to do it, imo. The way to do it is: the Word of God and prayer.
And, sometimes, you've just got to get the junk out from inside you by processing it and unleashing it in defining it and saying it out loud how you feel... and denouncing it in a way... replacing it with the truth of God in His Word.
Our feelings have to change. But it's the Word of God and prayer that gives us confidence so that we are not hurt by circumstances that shake our confidence.
We must be strengthened in our inner beings. That's how to heal. The Word of God and prayer.
Confess your faults one to another and pray that ye might be healed.
Listening... and praying... does wonders.
Causes people who haven't been able for years to engraft the Spirit, regain confidence, and be healed... to be able to have God minister to those areas of fault... you so clearly see.
A wound is beneath every fault. And every fault is a lack of confidence in the day of battle. Ours is a spiritual struggle. To the law and the testimony!
The Word of God and prayer.
Cures everything. Heals a person's inner being by granting providing strengthening in our innerbeings by the Spirit so that we can know, actually experience within us as our healing, the sweet love of Jesus... the gentle touch of God's Love and Comfort in the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, to me.
God bless.

Justuss, as was evident to some of us from the get go with this poster, there is nothing more than an attempt here to distract away from this boards purpose. Is there anything you can do about this before it becomes another fiasco? I have no problem just ignoring this train wreck but I think we always need to be mindful of new posters to MB.

Back, I, for one, am debating in my own mind and seeking the Lord's will regarding whether or not to respond or post anything more to you. You consistently claim to base your views and actions on the Word of God, yet your actions and words show either a very "surface" knowledge of the Word of God, or an outright choice to disobey many of the teachings of the Word of God. You resisted and then abandoned a respectful discussion of the Word of God in favor of returning to this thread and continuing with denials and rebuttals of everything that is said. You responded to everyone who posted to you since your return to this thread, yet you completed ignored my post of question to you. That is very telling in itself that you don't want to look at things, and I think I know why. Here is a quote of what you said in one of your many recent posts: The senior nurse turned to the trainee and said, "Not all labors are like this. This doesn't happen like this usually."
Yeah, I"m a one push wonder... like I say... I get through things quickly. Life has basically been pretty "easy" for you, despite your real experience with "lumps" (And I wish "experience" with Cancer on no one). You LIKE the idea that everything can be dealt with simply and easily. And you run from the FACT that not all things are "easily dealt with" and there isn't an "easy cure" for all things. Just ask Paul about his painful "thorn." God does NOT always grant healing regardless of how sincerely we pray, regardless of how much we want to believe that "everything will be all right," regardless of how we THINK we are being such a good Christian because of how we think of ourselves and being some sort of "martyr" in the endurance of pain and the "false front" we want to project to others that "we have it all together." If that were NOT so, there would be NO NEED for 2 Corinthians 1:4; "who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." You appear to hide behind your "feelings" and use them as "justification" and "rationalizations" for what you do and say, then plead "oh poor me, no one takes pity on me and my problems!" I tried that, Back, and it didn't work. You ran away. Understand this one truth Back, if you don't understand anything else. NO ONE can "force" anyone else to believe or do anything that they don't want to do. BUT, just because you sincerely "believe" something, does NOT automatically make that "belief" true. Christians are admonished by God to love God with all their heart, all their soul, and all their mind. It is NOT "blind faith," it is knowledgeable applied faith that comes through study, especially of the "more difficult" things. God does NOT tell Christians to "abandon their brains at the door, He says to come and GROW and MATURE in the faith. The analogy that is frequently used is one of a family. The Father rejoices at the "addition" of a new baby child to the family, and the baby forever remains a member of the family. But the baby doesn't "know" much yet. It takes a lot of study, learning, and patient teaching to help that baby mature and grow. It sometimes even takes "letting" that baby go down the "wrong paths" when they rebel and "want to do things their way" or want to "not listen and learn" because they think what they "feel" is all they need. Back, Why do you think God gave us 2 Timothy 3:16-17? You seem to be "self-determining" what parts of Scripture you want to be applicable to you and what parts you don't. Just like on this thread, you RUN from discussion where the Scripture might say, "Hey wait a minute, THIS is also true and from God, so you need to consider IT too in the context of the entirety of Scripture, you cannot just 'pick and choose' the parts you WANT to apply to you and ignore the rest." So I need to seek the wisdom of God regarding my continuing to attempt to discuss His Word with you.

Hello, I'm here visiting a marriage and relationship forum, but I don't feel comfortable discussing my relationship in this venue as I don't think any of you will respond civilly.
I would be pleased, however, to discuss religion....or politics....or that little wart that is growing on the back of my left hand...
Oh, and BTW, I'm leaving this board because I am expecting disrespectful comments from some of you members.

back has some serious problems that can't be addressed by this board that only detract from the board's intended purpose. Mimi might want to consider emailing Justuss and asking her to lock this thread since she is the thread starter.

ML,
That is very disrespectful of you to suggest locking this thread after I have bared my rawest emotions and feelings to this group. It is very difficult to open up to a group of people talking about pr!cks and HOs. Lord, it can cause one to become so twitterpated.
Since you are going to continue to be so disrespectful to me, I feel I have no choice other than to use the Ignore button. Now let me find it.....OK, here it is.....No, that's the EASY button(must remember to order those CD labels)...Well, please be warned that once I find that Ignore button, I won't be afraid to use it.
Now some scripture:
from the Book of Armaments, chapter two, verses nine to twenty-one.
9) And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'O Lord, bless this Thy hand grenade that, with it, Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits in Thy mercy.'
10) And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals and fruit bats...
<skipping forward a bit>
17) And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less.
18) Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.
19) Five is right out.
20) Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.'
21) Amen.
Since you all insist on discussing marriages and relationships here, I must leave. Could we talk about sports? How 'bout dem 'Boys? OK fine, I'm leaving. Watch me go. I'm serious!

Oh, and BTW, I'm leaving this board because I am expecting disrespectful comments from some of you members. DeWayne - Posting or not posting is your choice and your right. However, let me respectfully disagree with your "assessment" and "judgment" as you stated thusly: I don't feel comfortable discussing my relationship in this venue as I don't think [color:"red"]any[/color] of you will respond civilly. Don't you think that might be a bit of a stretch? I understand your aversion to "cliques," as that was a posting subject of yours years ago, and I don't necessarily disagree with your concern about that. But to post a blanket inclusion of "all" who post as being incapable of responding "civilly" seems to be rather "uncivil" in itself, don't you think?

FH, C'mon....Those two posts were not serious. Good grief, I would have thought the reference to the "EASY" button would have stood out.
I was trying to make a satirical point. It's completely obvious that either Mel is right, this person has some extremely serious personal issues that are not marriage-specific, or, as someone stated earlier, simply a troll.
I couldn't help responding when I saw how many members were getting their panties in a wad over this poster. At best, back is wanting only validation, and I don't think we're in "best-case scenario" here.
Anyway, I meant no insult or disrespect to you or anyone else. I just can't believe anyone took that seriously.
As for you, MEDC, and your suggestion, a tutorial would be much appreciated because it's not often one has the opportunity to learn from the Master!.. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
