I want to believe in your ability to tell the truth more than I want to dig up all your lies

I want to walk toward our future together more than I want to wonder “but, what if...”
I want to forgive you more than I want to hold on to the pain
I want to cherish every good memory more than I want to throw it all away
I want to feel you next to me more than I want to push you away

I want to love you someday, freely, the way I used to
Someday, when the bleeding stops and my heart beats…not so slow, not so carefully
For now, I’ll take what I can get. The slow, steady, one beat, then another

This is so sad yet so good. I prayer your spouse knows this and you are able to speak also . This is where I want to be someday .I am at the point of wanting to forgive but also wanting , no needing, respect back .
