Hello everyone, I was looking for a Christian-based forum that could help me figure out what the best solution for my current situation.
There is a lot of detail to this story, but I will try to keep it to the basics.
I have a best friend, actually an ex-girlfriend. She currently lives in Minnesota while I live in Nebraska. We decided to break things off in August for certain reasons. They are not necessarily important, but If someone wants to know more detail just ask.
Anyways, we have kept in contact and talk to each other regularly. I still have extreme feelings for her and visa versa. However, when I left she fell into a rut. She started to date a man who is currently still in a marriage and has an 18 month old kid. He is an athiest and she is a christian person. However, she is not a very strong will-powered person and after their first date, he had already tempted her to sleep with him. She was a Virgin and wanted to stay that way until marriage, but she was weak at the time I feel. She now lives with him, and helps take care of his kid. There relationship has been that of slightly 2 months.
Since we have been talking on the phone, our feelings for each other are still there, and it is noticeable. The guy she is with has tried to cut her off from calling me. I have told her that I would offer her the chance to get out of the situation, and I would drive up there to come and get her. However, she feels guilty having to leave this guy and his kid. She cooks for them and helps pay for the food. I feel like she has already connected with the kid, and that the guy is guilt-tripping her into staying with him. I know a lot of people will say this just to sound hopeful, but I truly believe she wants to be with me, but she hates hurting people and the easiest way to deal with this problem for her is to stay with him even though it is highly probable there will be more pain later.
Is there any advice that anyone can give me on how to go about this situation? It would be lovely if someone could give me some bible verses that pertain to this situation that I could tell her. I know she is lost and she needs saving, and I would do anything for her...
Also, is there any advice for how I should go about dealing with this in my own life? It is very hard to ignore and is dragging me down.
I know this is very vague, but if more info is needed, just ask...
Thank you ever so much for any help
