I am looking for some Christian advice...Please give me some feedback. My husband and I have been married for not quite 2 years. This is not the first marriage for either of us. I had been a single mom for over 10 years and not dated. I thought I had found my Godly man. In the beginning he won my heart by reading to me daily couple devotionals. Now, we are not speaking much and I am ready to walk away. We both have older teenagers. Our challenge is (my opinion, of course) is he has a mean spirit many times & is very moody. I treat his son with respect and love, he in turn is rude and down right mean, disrespectful to my son. He uses the excuse that he is irresponsible. Regardless of the situation my son tries to maintain a distance and does not fight back. My heart has truly become hardened this past year, I am not able to be with a man who is mean to my child. I pride myself in my parenting and I believe he should leave it to me. He should Trust my judgement and focus on his own son.

Welcome to marriagebuilders. Blended families are very, very difficult. Even if all the children are being treated equally, sometimes they feel like they are not.

My ex and I raised 8 kids together - my 2 boys, his boy and 4 girls, and their 2 step sisters. It wasn't easy.

Would your husband consider family counseling? We went, but my husband agreed with the counselor and then did NOTHING. We ended up divorced when the kids were grown.

And you might want to move your post over to the emotional needs section - the folks there are excellent at showing YOU how to change so that your husband will have to change.
