My W told me about her A that she had back in 1997-1999 18 months ago. She has had trouble recalling many things about the A but other things she can assure that they are correct. We have two children and our son was is 6 years old. Now she has told me that the sex stopped in early 1999 but over the past 18 months she has told me some things that differ from when she came out with the A in the first place. She did say that after 1999 she would still visit the OM from time to time but said nothing ever happened. This was also at a time when we were trying to have our son. Then after 9 months of trying she was pergant. I can't recall if she had visited the OM since it was so long ago and I did not know about the A I was not keeping track.
Now the Question, she has stated to me that I am the father but with all the lies and stuff that she has done and told me should I get a test to make sure? This has been on my mind since she told me about the A and has really been digging at me. Any one have any comments?

I would get the test. All it takes is a mouth swab. Hopefully you will have your peace of mind.
You are the father of your son no matter what. But it might relieve some of your anxiety.

Do you love your son? Will the results of the test change your view of your son? Are you willing to deal with the consequences of the dna test if he is not your son? What will you do with that information? What will that information do to your son?
Answer these questions, then make your decision.

FlrdTheState,
Thanks for the response and to answer the questions; 1.Yes 2.No 3. Need to see the results to deal with them 4. Confirm if my W is really telling the truth 5. Nothing because what ever they are he would not need to know. I would take the required actions to make sure that I was his faather even if that meant going though and leagaly adopting him.
Most of this is to get rid of any anxiety that I have over all that has happened. I feel that my W has lied to me for almost ten years with what she did and now I am not sure if she is still doing that or not. Since she is capable of what she did I just don't trust her especilly with how we got pergant after trying for so long and then bam she was. Well thanks for your input I will keep it in mind.

I understand the trust issue with your wife. But depending on the state you live in and the age of the child, he may be legally yours whether the DNA proves it or not. It's a can of worms for your child just to prove something about your wife. The trust issue is separate and one that there are many helpful resources here to assist you with, if she is willing to work on your M recovery. Deal with the M issues and let the child always believe in you. Love is thicker than blood. If you do the test, she will know, and eventually so will he if your M does not recover.
Good luck,
