I find myself having trouble getting into the Holiday spirit. So what are you doing?
I'm sure many others that are dealing with heavy issues are having the same problem, so lets hear some fun and upbeat ideas.

I bake cookies while listening to Christmas Songs....preferably while it's snowing outside!
Works for me! (smile)

Here's a fun idea.
Go to Best Buy at 7 am and stand in line, in the cold and snow for an hour, to get yourself one of the those "got to have it" WII game consoles.
Brrrrr....
but I got it.
Oh, the things we parents endure.
Mr. Wondering
p.s. - I was fortunate. The people I met in line have been trying for weeks. Standing in lines all night, practically camping out. I think WII may have been holding back on supply to keep the demand and buzzz ultra high. I'm betting they are pushing supply right now for the next few weeks. They were lined up 100 people at toysrus on Sunday for about 50 units.

I read an interesting article in the WSJ last week about Nintendo and why the supply is so short (I also waited in line last year with no luck - ended up paying about $100 over retail on eBay).
Nintendo is a 100 year-old family business that is run very conservatively. After the glory years in the 80s with the Nintendo and Super Nintendo game systems, they began to get crushed by Playstation and then Xbox. Now, they intentionally keep inventory low in order to keep cash flow high because they are concerned that it could all fall out again - very conservative, Japanese company = crazed American parents doing nearly anything to get a Wii. I found it very interesting.

I think I like the baking cookies idea better, sorry!! Thankfully, DS is only 5 and not into the higher priced stuff yet!!!! Doesn't stop him from saying, "Ohh, mommy, I want that!!" Gotta love commercialism!

Husband was unfaithful to me before and after our marriage, at least 7 times. I found out 13 yrs into the marriage. Trickle truth for an entire year. Several different d-days, so it was more like a d-year. Difficult recovery.

Working in a primary school is a wonderful way to get into the spirit of Christmas. We sing everyday, there are parties, concerts. It works for me.
At home we always decorate the tree together. Baking sweet mince pies with a glass of red wine always helps too.
Those WII game consoles are in abundance in HK. We;ve already sent one to England. Perhaps I should set up a little export business just for the Xmas season.

I work in retail...Bah, humbug!
This is always the busiest time of year for me. Work is absolutely nuts and things at church are nearly as crazy most of the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have special music that needs to be practiced, a children's program, complete with practices, regular worship team practice, the church Christmas party, a play being put on by our young adults group, with practices, of course, and I am the technical director/sound man/lighting guy/photographer/videographer/whatever for all of it. We also have our company Christmas party, my wife's company's Christmas party, several Chamber events, customer Christmas parties that we need to have representation at.
And then there is the Christmas shopping, the Internet shopping for out of town friends and relatives, the Christmas card lists, and the increased travel times to everywhere on the planet because everyone else is doing the same things at the same time.
And then we've had three ice storms in two weeks, and because of the increased traffic in our stores, we all get sick about this time every year and some can't work with the sniffles, so the rest of us get to make up for those that are missing. It's about 25 - 30% or even more of our business for the whole year, so sombody's got to do it.
By Christmas morning, I'm ready for a nap.
And little of it has anything to do with the reason we even celebrate Christmas, which is why it's all worth while and the best time of the year...
"Do not be afraid! I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a savior has been born to you; he is Christ, the Lord." Luke2:10 & 11 (NIV)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
