A Merry Christmas to all of you.

For those in pain this year, reach out to friends, family and loved ones to help you through these difficult times.

Holidays are meant to be spent with family and friends. Having that taken from you is most painful during these special times. Many of us have been in your shoes and share your sorrow...and hopes for brighter tomorrow.

Find peace in His love. It is there for all that ask.

Hey MEDC

I'm taking your advice and heading out in a little while to a party with some very dear friends tonight.

Haven't posted to you before but I've always like your advice and your straight shooting style! It's been a great source of support for me.

A Merry Christmas to you and yours as well...

Thanks Bugs...and everyone else too.

It was a beautiful day for our family. Even though we are not together, I made sure my boys mom got to spend a lot of time with him(and I even invited her to Christmas Eve dinner...did I mention I love to cook)...and we picked her out some nice gifts too. I think doing this will help him in relationships with girls/women as he grows.

I am just struck by the difference in my holidays now. I was, like many others here, at a very low place...suicidal even.. as a result of the harm caused by affairs. Every once in a while I will catch myself laughing hysterically and realize that the sound of my laughter is no longer "foreign" to me.

I know first hand how tough these days can be...Jame's came to mind a lot today because of what he is dealing with...but things will get better.

As an example, yesterday, I received a wonderful Christmas card from a fellow MB'er ...there was not a marriage on this board that was in worse shape IMO...and there they all were, smiling...a beautiful family beginning their life anew. The road is tough and not every marriage will be saved (or should be)...but recovery (either marital or personal) awaits all. Keep hoping...and working.

Fabulous! Finding the "unforced" laughter is very healing when we have it and recognize it, isnt' it?

Good for you in teaching about gifts and relationships to your DS, despite the pain you have been through yourself!! Cheers to you for extending the invite, too!

Merry (belated) Christmas MEDC!

And Happy New Year! (early on that one - not belated LOL)

Middle daughter and I are heading up to Lake Placid today. We'll be working 12 hour days up to New Year's (taking our skates for 'relaxing' after work LOL).

Will try to get in a teensy bit of skiing (sp?) and snowboarding too...

I am glad you had a beautiful day.

Everytime you post about your son, it is apparent how deep your love runs for him. You are a great dad, MEDC!

I catch myself laughing and wonder, "Did I really just laugh without trying?" It is good to laugh; it will be even better when it doesn't surprise me any more.

Hey,
Merry Christmas MEDC,

Glad to hear that you provide a good role model for your son. It's not just the gifts to his Mom that count, but it's the setting up of family life, of cooking meals, inviting people over to the home, making the home a welcoming place for friends and family.

Hope you are able to take a little extra time during the days between xmas and new years to enjoy time with your son.

Thanks SMB! You just KNEW I was talking about you guys huh? What a beautiful family you guys have. You and TST have a lot to be thankful for....and NOW that includes one another!

Lake...thanks for those nice words. Since I do work from home...on my own schedule for the most part, we have a lot of time together. But really, we have so much time together now. Each day when he gets off the school bus he is greeted by three labs and me...waiting to have a catch or play basketball. He truly is a great kid. He has already come up and hugged me several times today (mind you, he is 12!) and thanked me for making his Christmas wonderful. I always respond to his "thank you" with a reply of thanks to him for making mine just as nice.

It is good to be a dad!

Agreed!

And, the months you "knew" me here were nothing like the 18 years of joy tst and I had before all this A junk. You "saw" a man I never knew until this year; and I am really glad that creature is gone and the man I married is back. Now, I am just trying to reclaim those happy memories as the real deal.

MEDC,

Merry Christmas, belated.

I did want to say that, though I don't post to you much, that I appreciate your straightforward, honest posts. The world would be a much better place if all were so honest.
