A good old AA saying

FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT......

YOU CAN DO THIS.....

LaLa - come on join us. Not having a job gives you WAY MORE TIME to get dolled up in the morning. I'm jealous.

Count me in, but I don't wear makeup.

Well, you are certainly BLESSED, B.

IMO, I look AWFUL without my makeup. Maybe not AWFUL..but that MAC certainly makes me FEEL "pretty"...

And I DID fix up my home fit for a Goddess, and go to great lengths to prepare nice food, and serve it to myself on my best china. I enjoy a glass of wine in my good crystal occasionally, with candlelight.

I did my bedroom in eggplant, with tassles on the lamps, mirrors, and a mosquito net. Tossed my all cotton jammies for some Victoria's Secret nighties.

Have fresh flowers around the house, even in the bathroom where I soak in my bubblebath, accompanied by my favorite music and candles.

You are the EPITOME of GODDESS. You will need to give us LESSONS..

Having a hard time getting to sleep this evening, so I thought I'd drop on in.

I like Zorro's idea; I think I'll give my feet some lovin tomorrow, as best I can. I love the color pink, so the toes will have to be pink.

and Resonance, take care of yourself, lady. Look for yourself in that mirror, not your reflection from someone else's eyes or perspective. Nurture yourself, love yourself. Why not look at new hair cuts and color and take that plunge? It really does feel good to let go and CHANGE...

Wellll....it's not a MUST...

B doesn't wear makeup...

BUT...I personally am SURELY "prettier" with my makeup..

even my grandmother wore "just a little lipstick" into her 80s...

It's just GIRLY...to me..but that's how I was brought up...and I'm a GIRLY GIRL...

You don't like makeup, Cindy?

Do you have a MAC counter in your city? It's FUN for them to do your face and then you can go home and wash it off...

What's a MAC counter? I've never been one to wear makeup, but I did start putting a bit of eye make up on about a year ago. My girls do so much better than me.

God made me. I am His beautiful daughter - made in His image. I am beautiful to Him.

So, Madison Avenue tries to tell me that my eyelashes need to be longer.....my nails pinker...my lips shinier....my cheeks rosier....my nose less shiny.

Why?

So they can make a buck - or ten - by selling me things that serve no useful purpose and then selling me more things to remove the first things? Things I can not see. Things I don't benefit from. To turn me into the socially accepted 'norm'?

Why?

Why should a real goddess need that stuff?

I think that if YOU feel that YOU don't need it, Cindy, it's GREAT!!

My makeup makes ME feel GREAT!!

I don't think there's any WRONG with ENHANCING BEAUTY.

It's a matter of PERSONAL CHOICE.

I don't look all phony or anything. My makeup looks natural BUT covers up my YUCKY darkness around my eyes..and WAKES up my face...when I don't wear lipstick or blush, I don't look as FRESH..everybody thinks I'm TIRED...

All that stuff makes me feel good about BEING a WOMAN and I feel SEXY...

GODDESS IS CHERISHING WOMANHOOD...in any way that YOU wanna do that FOR YOURSELF..

Yeah, that's what I think of the campaign to get us to put on false faces. And that's what I think they are.

Sort of like the 'War Paint' that warriors put on.

However, when I put my makeup on, everyone tells me how good I look. I don't look that good. My makeup does. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Sometimes I wear it....most of the time I don't. I do look more like Madison Avenue's norm when I put it on.

Hey you all!

I can't believe I didn't make it in on this thread for 4 whole pages! Darn!

It must have been the call of this thread that would not let me sleep until I've posted!!

But know that it's not that we "need" makeup - It's about doing what makes us feel good,,,,what makes us feel the power we own as beautiful women.

What makes YOU feel good? Feel like a beautiful, powerful woman? How do you get in touch with your feminine side?

I'm a girly girl like Mimi.

I threw out every granny panty and replaced with pretty, MATCHING undergarments and wear only feel good, pretty, lacey, silky jammies! No sweats, no baggy t-shirts.

I went to the gym tonight while DD was in dance class.

Hair appt next week - am recovering still from my last attempt at a new do, so that is going to have to wait for a bit.

This weekend, perhaps a professional manicure, and am definately buying a new outfit for my birthday night out next weekend.

Go Goddesses!

Also, there is a real difference between WANT and NEED.

You need food. You need shelter. You need those things which are necessary. Not those things which are enjoyed or desired or preferred.

There've been times when I wondered how I was going to pay the house note or buy milk. Those things were needs. The latest shade by L'oreal or Lancome are not NEEDS.
