I just looked at an episode of WHAT NOT TO WEAR that I had on my DVR..and learned...

"Modern-day makeup is aimed at ENHANCING your NATURAL BEAUTY"..LOL..whatcha say, Rella?

And for Not2 and ALL of US..our aim is to dress like WOMEN and not GIRLS..

Heads up..chest out...

O.K. I'm in!!
I've been reading and admiring..now I'm joining in!
I don't do makeup much but I do skin care. I have
make-up but...well I have all the excuses! So,
yesterday I put some on

My boys noticed (18 and 20 yr olds) and said it looked good.
Oh and I waxed my eyebrows for the first time since, well, I ain't tellin how long!

So, my H has been working out of town since Christmas day and he is due home tonight. I will look good! Cuz I feel good!
(Except I am sad because in our very small valley we had 3 avalanche deaths yesterday afternoon...and being a small town I know one quite well, one is a doctor I met once and another I know but not well-I know his wife and worked with her though (theirs is an A marriage-yuk))
But, I will still be a GODDESS today.

Rin, I do the Mary Kay thing too and had been getting an order ready for months and just recently started updating it to include the mineral powder...now I can't wait to get it!!

Gotta go clean the house before H gets here!!
(I have been de-cluttering and cleaning since he's been gone). I think he'll be surprised.

Have a happy day!

Hello Goddesses,
This is a great thread for all of us trying to be the best we can be.

For about two years before my H got involved in his little EA, I had been on my own improvement plan that included exercise, re-learning about make-up, improving my wardrobe, and a couple other things.

After D day, I increased my efforts: I got a nice hair style and have kept up regular hair cut appointments. I added high lights. I style my hair daily right after my shower--blow dry and a little hair paste styled with my finger tips does the trick. I have maintained this routine ever since.

I also went on a bit of a shopping frenzy and now have a lot of sexy clothes. Since my oldest son just got accepted to a very high priced exclusive college (yes, bragging a bit), I am curtailing my shopping and just using what I have creatively!!

I like the discussion re make-up. I have always struggled with using it. I find a light mineral based powder is ok and a little concealer helps a lot. I wish I was better at applying eye make-up. I do agree that mascara is a pain and it never fully cleans up. So I don't use it.

Exercise is a big part of my Goddess experience. I run, cross country ski, bicycle, kayak, hike, and go to a pilates class.

I also cook and enjoy doing that. Baths and candles are fun. My perfum of choice is a set of scents that I got at the airport in Paris in 1988. I wear Anais Anais, Magie Noire, Coriandre, and Paloma Picasso. These scents remind me of that fantastic trip to Europe that H and I took before we had kids.

I hope everyone is well and is taking care of themselves. I think it is important to just set up little changes and keep up implementing the changes. Do the little things that you would like to do but have never taken the time to do.

YIKES! I gotta get busy, thought I was doing well with walking 2 miles every morning. Kayaking sounds fun though.

I have to pipe in about the mineral makeup. I love my mineral powder. It's helped my skin so much. I don't break out like I used to. I can't recommend it enough.

Well,
I don't do all those activities all the time. I have had a couple of injuries that stopped my running for a few months at a time. So I have fall back activities like biking and kayaking. I cross country ski whenever I have the time and there is snow on the ground. Walking is a great activity and it is great that you do it regularly believer.

Kayaking is really a lot of fun and does not require skill or much stamina. I love looking down into the water and watching rock formations and fish.

lake,

Wow, I'm jealous!! I'm your age and wish I had the will to exercise more. I'm not overweight, but I hate exercise just for the sake of exercise, if you know what I mean. I guess it has to be disguised as fun for me to like it. Say, walking to Starbucks, or riding the bike trail with a friend. I hate just lifting weights or doing aerobics.

My new do is OK. I love getting my hair cut and getting a new style, but it always takes me so long to learn how to do it myself. I'm good with make-up but don't do so well with hair.

I need to go get some of the mineral makeup you all are talking about. We have a Sephora here, so I'll check it out.

Gave my dog a bath today, and now she is a Goddess too!

been thinking about it. I have some...i'll do that too!
I don't think I need a candle yet, the roast smells divine. And he's been gone, living out of a motel for 20 days. I think he will like it!
Check the make-up, hair, yep. Ready!

Heh, my hubby is coming for a 9 day visit. I pick him up at 10:30pm in Nashville. He's stationed at Guantanamo Bay right now. His last visit was for two weeks back in September. Just 4 more months and we are back together again and moving to Japan.

I can't wait to shop in Japan!

Going to find that mineral powder... sounds divine!
