Warrior Goddess checking in on her weekend.

hair....awesome. Talked to my friend about NEW COLOR and cut.

makeup...all weekend long was always in check

nice outfit...bought, purple and ready to wear tomorrow. Chest will BE OUT and UP.... And so is my HEAD. My friend who shopped with me DIDN'T think it would fit. IT DID.

house clean...children were home alone.... will do tomorrow

goal for tonite...check in here, eat some dinner, relax, talk on the phone and be with G-d.

Attitude.... I CAN, BECAUSE G-D BELIEVES IN ME AND I HAVE FAITH IN HIM.

I missed you all very much this weekend. It was good to sleep in a hotel with so many pillows, soft bed, food served me to ALL THE TIME. The SHOWER was the best I EVER had in a HOTEL.

And it was SUNNY in the PNW.

I had to post this here, even though I posted it on my thread, too. DH and I went to his parents' house for dinner, and instead of wearing the usual "comfy clothes for stuffing yourself," I got all dolled up. Full make-up and hair...the whole bit. Would you believe that when I walked downstairs, my 3-yr-old immediately stopped what he was doing and said "mommy-you look bootiful!" I was absolutlely floored! Of course, DH noticed and commented all night-he is always a sweetheart-but the 3-yr-old almost made me cry!

Thank you, Goddesses, for helping me see the light, here! I feel better about myself already!

Peace,
LaLa

"mommy-you look bootiful!"

My 5yo son has taken to saying this to me, and he is sincere, because he's also opened to telling me when I look a FRIGHT (usually in the morning). He also holds my cheek in his hand and says, "You are such a good mom". Buttering me up for something, I'm sure , but it's ooooh, so cute

My son read for the FIRST time to me this Saturday evening--"The Cat in The Hat". My son is READING, just sort of all of a sudden. It's with such wonderment that I watch him grow and learn. It's so bittersweet to get to see what *I* might have been like as a child, and makes parenthood so much more bearable, and drives home how important mine and my husbands roles are in our DS life.

I'm cooking for the first time since I've been home, tonight. Chilaquiles with a tomato/cilantro/avacado salad. My mouth is watering already.

Breakfast for my child.....done

Chilaquiles is veeeeery simple, but tasty.

4 bonesless, skinless chicken breasts
2C. of Mozarrella cheese
~15oz Salsa Verde
Corn tortillas(8)
Sour cream

-Boil the chicken until tender, drain.
-Shred chicken with two forks until it is in small strips
-Prepare the corn tortillas (I warm them in a microwave after spraying with water--keeps fat content low)
-Preheat oven to 350degreesF
-spray a nonstick 9x9 pan with cooking spray, coating all side and bottom
-layer tortillas, then chicken to cover, then salsa verde liberally, then mozzarella cheese to cover. You can experiment with the amount of Salsa verde that you prefer, but I like lots.
-Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes.

Serve with Sour cream.

The tomato/avacado salad is just that; I add some fresh lime juice and sea salt and cilantro. You can use whatever veggies you like. Sometimes I like it with some corn and black beans, red onion. Whatever floats your boat.

This recipe was given to me by a friend who's mother made this for her "back home", and she loves it. If you fry the tortillas, it IS delicious, but adds a lot of fat.

As I've written it, substituting 2% cheese or fat free, this recipe is considered CORE with Weight Watchers.

NEW OUTFIT.... everyone notices and says it looks great. One teacher just said.... HOT MAMA today. I definetly get a A for the day on the outfit.

ACCESSORIES... New bracelet and earrings (why matching to the outfit of course), CHECK

I sent in my weigh in at 80 3/4 lbs, I weighed in on Saturday and got my P today, so of course the weight went up. I gave them Saturday - but DON'T tell them. LOL

Attitude - very STRONG, BRIGHT CHEERFUL, HEAD'S UP, CHEST IS OUT AND EVERYONE IS NOTICING.

Mojodiva - That's good news! Do we need to go through the checklist with you?

Went through the list last night and I'm all set... except for the matching red & black bra and panties I'm purchasing tomorrow. I'm going to ask him if he wants to see my new shoes , then step out in the shoes wearing just the underwear. Think it will make an impact?

I DO need y'all to tell me where to find the mineral powder? My mother wants to buy it for me tomorrow.

Just did my toenails... I forgot how happy that makes me.

Since I heard such rave reviews about that mineral make-up, I'm ordering some now. I've always wondered about that stuff.

My DIL is selling make-up now, so I'm ordering it from her. Goddesses stick together!

Mojodiva,
My daughter works at a day spa and they sell Bare Minerals so that may be a place to look. Also it sounds like the department stores (with make-up counters) sell it also. (I don't live in a place big enough to have a department store so I am clueless there)
Also, Mary Kay has just added the mineral powder so that is where I will get mine to try because I am a personal use consultant (I just order for my own use). So if you know of someone who sells any of those products you may be able to get it that way. And I don't just mean Mary Kay, but maybe Avon or something similar? Not sure.

Update:
I did good today and wore mascara and blush again! And my eyebrows look good still.

I even told my H that I am a GODDESS now. He liked it!
After a little while he was telling a story from work and used some bad language. I waited a bit and then I told him that this GODDESS did not like to hear that kind of language. So, if he wants to play with this GODDESS, he has to not say those words!
He wants to play with me so he will be more careful
(He is working in the oilfield which is generally a pretty rough bunch and he's been gone a while and not around GODDESSES so he'll have to brush up his manners)

Anyway, keep up the good work everyone. I am so inspired just reading what everyone is doing!

I agree MAC make up is very nice. It tends to be available at Macy's. But also, I like Physician's Formula and it is available at many drug stores like Rite Aid. It is sometimes available on sale, or buy 1 get 1 free. The loose powder is nice, but you can get the powder in a regular compact also. You can also buy artists brushes at arts and crafts stores cheap that work very nicely for applying loose powder.

A useful trick with powder is to tap the brush gently on the side of the compact before you apply it to your face. That way, you do not get too much powder on your face and can avoid a cakey look and avoid getting powder all over your clothes.

Lots of brands advertise "mineral" make up and there is really no quality control. Just find a make up that works for you. It is nice that make up is available in products that don't have a heavy feel on the face--I do not like that heavy, greasy feeling. When I am really taking care of myself, I use a little concealer on my blotchy spots and then use a little powder. Since I have oily skin, I like the powder, but be careful about getting it on your eye lids or around the sensitive eye area as it can be drying.

I don't wear make up every day and I don't think that it is a requirement for a Goddess. But if it makes you feel good and helps you have a more successful day, I think it's a nice idea.

I have no vested interest in any brand and I am sure there are other brands that are good. Target also sells a lot of nice make up.

Bare Minerals is sold at Sephora too. That's where I get mine.

And now I am going to take a nap. Put the chilled 'batman' mask on my face to get rid of the puffiness around my eyes.

This Goddess needs to learn to stop crying.

Sorry you are crying, Sunshine. Very bad for goddesses - makes for puffy eyes.

Ladies, I need some help remembering that goddesses FORGET the past and let it go. Got another letter from ex today where he said that his prayer for Christmas was for us to reconcile, that he is so sorry, I was a wonderful wife, blah, blah, blah. It made me feel HURT and then ANGRY.

I know that I need to move past this and go on with my wonderful new life. I keep looking for some kind of "closure", and it isn't happening.

We have been divorced a year, and I have remained in Plan B. But he is constantly sending these letters and leaving messages on my phone, and at WORK.

I've told him to just get OUT of my life, but he continues to hammer away. And I know that I'm to blame too, because I read the letters instead of just throwing them in the trash.

I know, I know, goddesses don't whine.

Not2 -

Hubby left me and rode off into the sunset on our brand new Harley, with one of our neighbors. I flipped out and followed him and acted real crazy for months. He continued denying that they were living together and it drove me crazy. The affair lasted 4 years and ended a week after our divorce was final. That is the short version.

Now I'm happily with a new man, and ex is determined to get back together. This has been going on since August.

But that is off-topic for this thread. Suffice to say that affairs almost always end and they want to come back.
