I'm here. Just checking in. Gotta run to the store to find something for dinner. Something I can eat & not get sick.

I haven't been on the boards too much lately, but I happen to be working a night shift tonight and there is only one little lovemuffin in the nursery, so I have been trying to catch up in between feedings and just found this thread. It is exactly what I needed.

I have always done the girly stuff - pedicures, facials, spend BIG bucks on my hair, and get the occasional massage. When my H had an affair and left home, I lost about 50 pounds on the infidelity diet and looked great. Since he has been back, I have put about 20 of it back on.

While he was gone, I seemed to have much more time for myself. I walked every day, did my exercise tapes, and swam at the school pool a couple of nights a week. For me, that exercise is key in keeping my weight down. My diet has always been healthy although I battle a sweet tooth constantly. But now that H is back home, I find that I don't have that time for me. First, I work two 12 hour day shifts and one 12 hour night shift. On the days I am home during the week, H comes home for lunch. On weekends, we spend all of our time together. Two nights a week, we play on a pool league. So we definitely get our recreational time together and it seems that I always choose that over time for me alone. Add to that cooking, cleaning, and our remodeling projects, and my classes, and it seems like the days are too short.

So anyway, this thread has given me some motivation again to make exercise a priority....and the sweatshirt and sweat pants talk...well, point well taken is all I have to say. I seem to live in either scrubs or sweats unless we are going out. So, I'll work on that.

Sorry to come to this party so late...but better late than never I guess !!

We lost power for several hours, tree went down probably due to some ice. Winter weather mix wasn't quite the bang they expected but I did stay home!

Since I was home had time to paint my toenails...I hope no one looks close, it's hard to do, they look pretty snazzy, RED.

Skin I hope you are doing ok.

Welcome LD5! Better late then never...jump in!

Take care Goddesses.

"BTW, Believer, what about my dessert recipe?" Mimi - I've been busy and out with my mom. She is visiting for a week from Seattle.

Lucky I started the goddess program before she got here. I always have the house sparkling clean, but did an extra good job. But OOOPS, missed the handles on the kitchen cabinets. She noticed and commented last night. YIKES mom, give it a break.

Anyway, we are having a good time, and I'm getting lots of exercies. Yesterday we went walking on several different beaches for miles, walking on the pier, in the mall, etc. Think we walked for about 5 hours all together.

This is goddess exercise month, right?

It's so funny, when I CAN exercise (the last time I COULD was in September, before the degenerative disc disease debacle), now that I can't (for a while--only very light stuff and walking) I long to. So, I clean instead, work up a tiny sweat and work on the house in small doses, sewing curtains and fairly effortless painting.

I look forward to the warm months when I'm back in my pool. It's good strength training, working with the water, and my doc recommends it.

Today, my son is home from school, so I'll spend some time out attemtping a snow man, with mostly HIS leg work (we got about 4 inches yesterday in MD), and then make some cookies (oatmeal raisin) and work on the curtains, if I have it in me.

Today I'm going out. I'm all dressed up. Meeting my dear friend who's saved my life twice for lunch. I don't know how much lunch I'll be able to eat, but I get to see her & her adorable little son.

I hear ya, not2,

I had a really good Goddess Day yesterday! LOL!

I had the make-up goin' on, nice top with my jeans & funky Goddess shoes, Goddess adornments...then I left. Wow! Lots of attention and I had been so busy out and about that I forgot about the Goddess stuff. But plenty of others noticed!

LOL!!

I have some mineral make-up coming in soon from my DIL.

WOOO! Still feelin' good from yesterday!

I'm totally not taking care of myself ;-( It's been about a three or four day pity party straight!

I have a heck of a time eating. Was almost under weight to begin with. I've always hated the sunkin' in cheek look and it's just getting worse.

What is something that goes down easy, has lots of "weight"?

Milkshakes go down easy!

Skinsgirl- My mom is HERE in San Diego county. When she left Seattle, it was snowing. Now we've been walking on the beach - 68 degrees today. Went walking on the beach, to a garden park, and a meditation garden on the ocean, and out to lunch. It was a nice day.

SS some potato soup. It's definately comfort food and easy on the tummy. I read your current thread, I'm sorry, sometimes NOT knowing details is easier.(((SS)))

Now the best thing is to get back up, dust yourself off, and get BACK into the Goddess mode of thinking. Have you done anything GODDESS like today? Let's get you in "the attitude" and you'll be able to handle the 'crapola".

Everytime I read this thread I hear the song "let's give them something to talk about" in my head. I think it's a good song for this thread!

(((GOOD MORNING BEAUTIFUL GODDESSES)))

Charlotte..let me know how the makeup goes...still considering it, haven't "bought" into it though....Glad to hear you were having a great GODDESS day.

Skinsgal, you are worrying my here and you know what they say about worrying?? It will cause wrinkles, and honey THIS GODDESS does not need any more wrinkles :-)...Get yourself some protein shakes. They maybe easier to go down than real food. Have one every couple of hours, that way you won't lose too much weight....

mvg- I LOVE THAT SONG....I alway here the song "I will survive" when I am on this thread, maybe I should download that one and put it on repeat all day...lol

OK, GODDESS check in for this morning....

breakfast....check, still have 15 lbs to lose, but don't want to end up sick...

jeans on....check, not one of my new pair, but not sweats either....

sweatshirt....yes...I know, I know but you'll all see why next

house clean...nope...WS had the new floor put in the last couple of days. His useless, idiot uncle did it. They look awesome though. BUT they moves all the furniture out to do them and didn't put ANYTHING back...so today I will be putting everything back in its place AND decluttering at the same time (that's another good thing about all of this, my main floor in now getting the deep scrubbing/decluttering that it needs). That is why sweatshirt in on, and I promise to throw this one away when I am done today, since my house will be shiny new I won't need it....lol

makeup on...check, even did a deep scrub and moisurized...

Everyone have a WONDERFUL GODDESS DAY...today will be the day my mood improves....

My dad is here to help me with the house, sister is behind him...so gotta run...oh yeah, I will post a recipe I want to share with you all, Holiday Morning French Toast...a most scrumptious GODDESS recipe that I don't share with just anyone, but you all have been so good to me that I must pass it on to you....

I'm missing the excuse for the SWEATSHIRT. Have any of HIS old buttondown shirts? They love to see you in those. You've got to get a handle on this SWEATS ADDICTION of yours...
