Wish I could SL!!! I can't cancel classes (that I teach) because I have a cold though.... My department would kill me. And you really can't get a "substitute" teacher at the college level... I could see if I could get out of my night class tonight... but truthfully I'd rather just "tough it out" rather than have to make up a week's worth of work. They don't send home those neat little "what you missed" packets in grad school like they did in elementary school! (I'd love that!). Plus, I don't really know anyone in my class that well, so I'm not sure who I'd ask for notes, etc-- or if I trust someone else's notes...

Anyways, so I'm kinda stuck "sucking it up". About the only days I could take off if I got sick are Mondays and Fridays. The rest of the days I have to be about dead before I could take them off.

Oh well, I'm sort of vegetating at my desk anyways, in a cloud of cold medicine. I haven't done an ounce of work YET. Haha. That's what they get if they expect me to come in sick!

Well, regret, do whatever you can to care for yourself.

I read an article lately that bolsters my theory on going to work sick. It is counterproductive, and could cause more problems, for example, spreading illness to other employees, reducing productivity further, and making the BOSS look bad to the other employees, because they feel like he is a slave driver for not being more lenient in the illness department. Resentment can build under these circumstances, reducing productivity.

My boss USED to get angry when people were out sick (we are a small business), until I started taking time off, and then having LOOOONG conversations (more like debates/arguments) about coming in sick. I had sick leave, and intended to use it for that purpose. HE felt that one should nearly be on their death bed before taking time off. It really wasn't until HE got pneumonia that he began to understand how difficult it could be to WORK under those conditions. It took PNEUMONIA. Crazy!

Also, I was the first person in the company to take maternity leave, and expose the company to what it takes for a mommy to work full time while still giving quality care to their children. I refused to work when DS was ill, no way, no how, even if I had alternative care, I stayed home with him. HE was more important. The company is now much more supportive of family, even being a small company. I have now been there for 8.5 years, and am very happy with the job.

This turned into a long diatribe, but I wanted to point out that YOU MATTER, regret, regardless of what others think.

I understand about school. If I was sick in college, I just missed the class, and had to struggle to regain ground. I'm sure graduate school is even harder.

Take care as best you can.

GODDESS CHECK IN..

Make Up... I forgot it. Went to work too early - but planning to put some on. With my tan, I don't look as pale.

Hair... not a great day, need to still color hair and get cut now. Not sure what I can do with my hair.

Outfit.... Gorgeous and getting so many compliments. In fact a mom just said the transformation is amazing. I had a teacher write me a note that said - You are looking great.

We all are in this together, so my success is your success.

Thank you

Not2fun shhhhhhhhh the sweat pants police will hear! H said I could keep them if I only wore them on really really bad days. They are hidden deep away not to see the light of day unless I'm really sick.

I hope you and Regret get over the nasties quick. Regret try some zicam that's suppose to help tremendously IF it's a cold. Can you get some nice warm tea to sip on that always makes me feel better and loosen any congestion.
((((sending healing thoughts to you 2)))

I hope everyone else is having a great Goddess day.

I could be cute and say it depends on if their spouse still drinks. But assuming we understand that.

NO... that would not be smart.....

I'm cold. Freezing. I'm wearing sweatshirt. Old Navy pj pants & stripped chenille socks. But my hair & makeup are done. I still don't have a job & I'm watching movies. And I'm drinking water only. And I had a granola bar for breakfast. It's raining. I refuse to go outside. I could melt.

Well, here's a question for everyone. How do you get "the girls" to separate? I got a cute low cut top, and a lacy thing to layer under. But my girls look like they are smashed together, kind of like a butt crack. I want them to look voluptuous and APART. How is that done?

Oh Believer, you are so funny.

OK - Guys, close your eyes.....

Go to Victoria's Secret and get one of those 100 ways bras. It heads them up and moves them out (remember Rawhide?), and the straps go any which way you can think of - around your back, your neck, your stomach, arms, head whatever. That's why they call it the 100 ways Bra. Wear it with low cut, not cut, backless, halter..you get my drift. It should make you look like a million bucks!

I just got back from taking her to the airport. It has been sunny and warm all week here, so Seattle will be a shock for her. We spent hours walking on the beach in shorts and shirtsleeves. Now it's back to reality.

I am wearing a sweat shirt today because it is still soooo cold! The sun is just going down and it is already 5 below zero! This morning was about 25 below. I think tommorow we should get some clouds in which will warm it up.

Believer, imagine my shock when you suggested planting spring flowers recently!! I don't think so. Not till May. (P.S. I was born and partly raised in San Diego).

Oh, Wyoming is beautiful! I always wanted to live there. But I didn't know it got 25 below there. You must live in the mountains.
