The carousel things are on TV. I got mine at BigLots. Don't know if they have that where you live.

My sons are 23 and 26. I know, old enough to cook for themselves.

My guy has been gone for almost 3 months. I can't join him because I used too much vacation taking care of my dad. So I'm stuck here working.

Good morning Goddesses! I hope all will have a great day!

SS I've been wondering the same thing. A bit afraid to order without knowing what the heck I'm doing. However QVC does care the BE line and you should be able to do returns to them.

Someone asked about hypo-allergenic...the BE line is suppose to be less allergenic as they don't add the fillers and stuff that regular makeup has.

For what it's worth, I got some Oil of Olay night cream, that stuff feels soooooooooo nice on your skin. It's a purpleish color and very creamy. Also am trying their bath lotion, ribbons of something, purple container. If you like body butter, this stuff is fabulous! You get out of the shower so soft and smooth.

P.S. Checkout clinique online, they are offering free trial sizes of Clinique Happy fragrance.

Wish me luck, goddesses. I have to go to Tijuana today. My ladies church group has a program to get young girls off the street and away from prostitution. We go twice a month to work at an activity center there and on the streets.

It's pouring down rain, and we are expecting a bigger storm this afternoon. I DON'T want to go.

But I will be a good goddess and meet this obligation.

And I'll leave my pumps at home!

Hey Goddess!! Just wanted to check in and let you know I got some of the "real deal" mineral make up yesterday!! (the BE stuff). They carry it at Ulta-- and the lady there helped me figure otu what kit I needed and tested my skin tone (so if you have Ulta near you, you can try there!). I got the "starter kit". It was $60, which is sorta expensive, but it comes with 2 powders, the tanning stuff, the finishing powder, and some pink stuff?? Oh, and 3 brushes. I haven't watched the "training" DVD it comes with yet, so I'm not sure what to do with all this stuff!!

I got some new colors of nail polish yesterday too, to go with my new finger nails. I've let them grow recently, and they look very nice!

Gonna have a good goddess day!

Hey RIM,

That's what I'm getting this payday - the starter kit. I'm light to fairly light. The lady at Sephora tried it on me and gave me the lesson, but I've already forgotten how to do it. Guess I'll have to get a refresher when I go in to buy it.

Went to the mall today for a little shopping, but really didn't buy anything. 4 days before payday, and I've cut it close this month due to all of the new stuff I was buying for the condo. Had to slow it down a bit.

Anyway, had all of my Goddess gear on today so count me in.

Believer, hope your trip to TJ went well. It's a little depressing down there. I hate it when all of the little kids are begging on the street. Parts of it are so dirty too. I hope that you were able to do some good things there.

I just got back and got soaked. Strangely it was sunny and warm until we got in line to get back across the border. Then it absolutely poured - the kind of rain that even with an umbrella, you are drenched in 10 seconds.

One of today's activities was letting the girls shower and doing their hair. We had a bunch of hair ties, barrettes and ribbons, and they just loved it.

We also had lunch, played games and had Bible study. It was really nice.

Tijuana is very sad. The average daily pay there for men is about $8.00 a day. The nightclub dancing girls can earn up to $1,000. a day, so it is very tempting for them.

The place is an outreach center for those girls working against their wills, and to give the younger ones hope for a better life.

I got home not looking very goddess-like - soaked to the bone, straggly hair, like a drowned rat.

Well, GODDESSES, we almost fell off the first page!

So, I will give my not-so-GODDESS update.

I was all dolled up to go to town this morning and then just let my son drive to school instead. I changed into my not so goddess clothes (but not sweats!) and headed to my office to work on anything tax related.

My eyes are so tired cuz I had the worse night sleep in years last night. I guess it was from drinking a Rockstar Juiced at 4 p.m. I just couldn't get to sleep!! I saw 3 am on the clock and almost 4, then got up at 6. I'm a little blurry eyed.

And it is snowing and blowing so hard!! For awhile it was blowing so hard I couldn't see my house which is about 50 feet away. And my path is blown shut so I will have to trudge through butt-deep snow to get home for lunch, and then I won't want to come back!

How's that for a whiney update? The snow is actually quite beautiful, but I know I won't want to come back if I have to bust through a wind-drifted path all over again.

Maybe now is the time to drink the other Rockstar!!
That would surely screw up my nap!

Hey Chai-- the starter kit (I got the light/fairly light one too) comes with a training DVD. The training DVD is actually very helpful. It shows you exactly what to do! Make sure you watch before you try it. You actually need a surprisingly little amount of product to get a good, flawless coverage. They show you how much, and how to get it on the brushes correctly so that you don't apply it all clumpy. Its pretty idiot proof (because I'm a pretty big idiot when it comes to things like that, and I could handle it!).

Good luck! The stuff is really great!

Eh, believer, you may not LOOK like a goddess, but what you just did in Tijuana is a very godessy thing to do. Helping others always gives you that certain glow about you that is irresistible... whether you "look" it or not at the time. You are just goddessing up your spirit!! Hey, we gotta be goddesses on the INSIDE and OUT! Kudos to you

Trudging through the butt deep snow is not very goddess-like.

I suggest you come visit me IMMEDIATELY in Southern California. It's been raining, but usually only lasts a day or two. Mostly it is sunny and warm, even in January.

Thanks, RIM, yes, INSIDE and out.

oooooh! I'm on the SoCal trip!! Where I'm at it is "warm" today... and by "warm"... I mean it is about 35 degrees outside with about an inch of snow on the ground. By the end of the week it is supposed to be in the 20's again.

So, warm and sunny sounds good! I'll be knocking on your door!!

Well I was right. The snow was clear up to my butt. And now the path is covered up again. My boot came off when I was trying to get home so it was filled with snow...I don't want to go back out there. At least it's not 25 below anymore!! I'd rather have the snow than the frigid cold.

B, I think we shall get a group together to come see you. Can we stay till it warms up at home? For me, the snow starts to go away sometime in April.

Oh, and I didn't feel or look like a goddess trying to get through all that snow! My hair was flying around and my boot got stuck without me...dreadful.

Sing with me...

I went to work today and attended the production meeting with my reading glasses, and my hair in a knot, and a black top buttoned all the way up.

Then after work, we had a going away party at the O club, where I put on my F-me pumps, unbuttoned the blouse all the way down, and let my hair down. I was quite demure as the guys were asking me to play pool. What they didn't know is that I grew up with a pool table. So I broke and ran 5 balls in a row. It was quite satisfying. Their eyes were popping out.

Hey RIM, question for you on the BE starter kit...does it REALLY hide flaws?-if you have any to hide that is. I found an Ulta store in city and hoping to make the trip this weekend.

Goddess routine is gettting easier each day but I have to allow more time! LOL I've been late to work EVERY day.

Hey mvg--

I have a very uneven skin tone, which is primarily what I was looking to cover. Its just very blotchy. I was happy with the way that it created a very even looking skin tone. Another thing that it did really well for my skin is sort of creating that "healthy" looking "glow". I also tend to have a very washed-out appearance during the winter (I'm italian, so I sort of get this ugly, sallow washed out color during the winter, in addition to the fact that my skin isn't very uniformly colored...).

I have a few lines in my forehead too, and while it didn't "cover" these, it did smooth out the appearance of my forehead (the coloring), so they sort of blend in better than they did before.

Other than that, I don't have too many problems with my skin. My skin also tends to be oily (that Italian thing again...)-- and this still works well with me... the "finishing powder" (I think that is what it is called?) works nicely to reduce the appearance of my pores around my nose, which are the size of the grand canyon.

I do like how you can't tell at all that I'm "wearing foundation", even if you DO look closely. Sometimes it is really obvious people are wearing foundation (which I hate, I hate the really "makeup-y" look)-- which I think looks bad and is one of the main reasons I never wore foundation despite having blotchy, washed out skin. I figured blotchy and washed out was better than a "mask" appearance.

But generally speaking I don't have a whole lot of blemishes to hide, so I can't speak to that. But I do know it is excellent at evening out skin tone, and giving you a sort of healthy "glow" (there's a tanning compound in the starter, as well as stuff called "glee" that gives you that healthy pink-y color).

And I highly recommend you watch the "training DVD" before you start playing with it. It is sort of an "unconventional" method of applying it... and I know if I wouldn't have watched the training DVD, I would have screwed it up. Seems silly to watch a DVD to tell you how to apply your makeup, but it really helps. And the "foundation" part is probably only like 10 minutes long or so.

So, that's my opinion of it. I think it was worth it. And truthfully, if you follow the DVD, the amount of product you actually use is so small, that really it should last you for a long time (I would estimate probably at least 3 months of daily usage, if not even longer-- and even then you'd probably only have to replace the actual "foundation" part and not the finishing stuff or the coloring stuff... not a whole new kit.

Oh-- and clean and clear makes WONDERFUL little strips that are oil absorbing that I use daily too, around lunch time-ish when I tend to get a little "shiny". I love them. I carry them in my purse at all times. You can get them for like $4 at target, etc (that is if you are Italian and an oil factory, like me...).
