No you guys! It is an apparatus that uses little tiny rubber bands for resistance.

It's like a bo-flex that fits inside of your mouth.

Why thank you, Mimosa.

Smiling does cause less wrinkles than frowning. Happy lines are not wrinkles.

I think you are a little young to remember Cab Calloway (heidi heidi heidi ho)... He must have been one of the original scat performers...but the dances he used to do.

I saw a video of him performing on a train with his jazz band doing those happy moves with his feet.

Sometimes I feel like getting up out of this desk and trying some of those moves out myself.

Wouldn't that just knock everyone in the office right out of their chairs!

Now this is an excellent video showing all of Calloways moves...watch it all the way through to the end because it's cool when he is performing at the Cotton Club.

I don't really like that kind of music very much, but I think scat and his dance moves are freaking awesome!

Okay, the ladies with the fans at the end was definitely lame.

An innocent version of the strip tease, or what? I don't know, but people seemed SO innocent back then. If Peita is reading on this thread, she'd probably agree.

I have a question for all you ladies. I've never been much of a girly girl. I'm really a tom boy. So I never really learned how to put on make up. I never really needed it before really except for maybe evening events.

What do you typically put on in a day? There are soooooo many products I have no clue. Like you know, when to use foundation, concealer, face powder.

Should I use eyeliner or just go with mascara. What abou eyeshadow, how do some people get their eyes looking so cool.

Is there any place someone can point me to for this stuff, because I seriously need help?

I have always been pretty good with skin care, but makeup... forgetaboutit.

Mimi recommends going to a make up counter at a department store...I think she likes the MAC counter.

I don't wear much makeup as a rule... just powder foundation (I use BE, but I am going to try Glo Minerals now), mascara, eye shadow, lip liner and gloss dipped in my bare minerals.

I have trouble with eye liner and brown liner, but when I do take the time to use them, I guess I look more polished.

It's so surprising all you girls that don't wear make up. Heck I started wearing make up at about 13 yo, and never have stopped. It's fun.

I'm more one who wears make up but wants to have a natural look, more so than made up.

I have been a tom boy most of my life; didn't wear makeup until recently, unless a special occassion arose.

I wear liquid foundation, but it's very light, some blush (or bronzer, depending on my mood), eyeliner sometimes, eyeshadow that compliments my blue-green eyes (many of the browns, pinks, golden colors), mascara, and tinted lip gloss. I watch shows like "What Not To Wear" for makeup and clothing tips.

Went shopping this weekend, and bought a cute grey sweater, of the SWING variety, and a geometric purple, grey and white shirt to go with. I bought two pairs of black shoes (girly wingtips and plain leather semi-pointed toe shoes); bought two pairs of SLACKS (camel colored, and dark blue) and some shirts and stuff. I forgot to buy a couple of new bras. That will be on my next trip that finances will allow.

BTW, Josie, I have watched many an OLD MOVIE with Cab Calloway scattin it up. If I tried those moves, I might hurt somebody. I also adore watching Gene Kelley dance--he's IS poetry in motion.

ZORA:

Go to a makeup counter in a MAJOR DEPARTMENT STORE in your area and they will do a makeover. Tell them that you are just starting and they will accomodate. I happen to like MAC but anyone of them will do.

JOSIE:

It's easy to apply eyeliner if you use BLACK EYE SHADOW and A BRUSH. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what it does to my eyes. I've been cracking up all day at the vision of you getting out of your chair and dancing. That would be soooo NEAT!!

APPLAUDING YOUR CHANGES, SL!!

POWER TO THE GODDESSES!!

I'm a Goddess today. I went to the aesthetician and got a chemical peel. My skin is going to be soft as a baby's bottom in 5 days!

This EXERCISE GODDESS walked around the track for almost 3 miles last night and after her AA meeting walked to the tanning place and then home, which was at 10pm. All by myself and not scared one bit.

I actually think I walked for at least 4 miles yesterday.

Wow... my legs were tired....

But recovered today.

((((GOOD EVENING GODDESSES)))))

Zora....I wear light foundation (after moisturizer of course), blush, eyeshadow, gloss, and I cannot live without mascara.....I am fair skinned and blonde,,,, my lashes don't stand a chance.....oh...and I'm like Mimi...I use dark brown eyeshadow as eyeliner...a Q-tip does the job quite nicely.....

I am doing good today....I lost 2 more pounds...for a total of 37 lbs.....I am fitting into my size 6 pants....WHOO HOOO.... the only bad thing is that all the clothes I just bought as starting to become too big....

dang....I guess I'll have to go shopping again....

Ok ladies--putting this thread back on page 1!!

Today is the start of goddess weekend for me. This afternoon I got my hair colored and cut; then I bought myself a nice bottle of wine to have a glass with dinner. (I was planning to rent a pay-per-view movie but my cable is out right now )

Tomorrow I am getting a manicure and a new perfume for spring!

Then Sunday I am going to Washington DC for a conference. Goddesses, I LOVE DC so I am excited to go on this trip! Will have a chance to meet up with some friends and go out for nice dinners.

Life is good, ladies, life is good!

Rock the weekend y'all!

Smartie
