Smartie,
Have a great time in DC. I've been trying to get there, but just haven't been able to make it happen.
We're pretty much snowed in around here this weekend, so doubt I'll be able to do much....

so I decided against the tanning salon. I picked up some jergens moisurizer that adds a little bit of color slowly to your face/skin. I'm sure it has improved since I was a kid, that stuff stunck and made me orange. ick!
doesn't look like I'll make it to the mall for my make-up this weekend, winter storm warning in effect until sunday ;-( YUCK!!!

The reason why I am the Princess of Survival! <<<<<click to see the reason In this situation, I surrender all divinity to God! He let me walk away from that wreck. Under the care of the chiropractors and massage therapists at the office, I will be ok. The only bruise I have found is where my knee hit something and the bruise is smaller than a dime. I'm stiff and sore and my range of motion is reduced. My beautiful children were not with me. They are well and safe. My car, however, is toast! Burned, stale, moldy toast! I have gotta get another one. Folks, pay attention when you drive! And, if you are new in town, be doubly careful. Poor fellow, he didn't know that the lane he was in always backs up at rush hour.

HAPPY SATURDAY GODDESSES
Well, today I went to the mall, got my pedicure and eyebrows done. Boy did I need that....and I bought a new belt, since none of my old one fit.
Tonight I am going to a Bday party for my cousins wife. Nobody in the family outside of my immediate family has seen me since dday. So, they will all be in for a shock when the see the new and improved, here-to-stay GODDESS Not....with my 37 lb. weight loss and some new clothes, not to mention I've kept up with my hair cuts/coloring, they will be quite wowwed tonight....it should be a big ego-boosting night for me....yeah.....

Oh, Cinders, sorry to see what happened to you. But glad that you weren't hurt and that your kids weren't with you!!!
That is certainly NOT a car for a goddess.

Goddess NOT, knock off their chairs tonight. Celebrate!!!
As for my wreck. I wanted to pay off some debts, go on a vacation, and do some home improvements. Should have an income tax refund that would have made most of that doable. Now, that refund is going to buy a car - along w/ the pittance I will get for my car.
Trading it in, I would expect about $875; private party sale, about $1650; dealer purchase, about $2500.
Consider, I am out the use of my car, the headache of dealing w/ the insurance, the medical expenses (princess of the chiropractor's office - that's me!), the time off from work for dr, the ordeal of determining what kind of car I want, the worry of what will I do if my new driver daughter wrecks the next one. Where will another car come from? I am not a happy woman.
But, the young man who hit me wasn't being careless or crazy. He just wasn't paying ENOUGH attention to the here-and-now only worrying about getting home 5 minutes sooner.

The insurance company may try to give you very little. That is where homework will pay off. I looked on traderonline and found cars similar to my son's, and copied the higher priced ones. The insurance offered him $1750. After a couple of weeks of negotiating, he settled for $10,000 - the price of a similar car and 5 times his medical expenses.

I second that I am glad you are ok Cinders. Be careful and take extra care of yourself.
This GODDESS, spent the day as DOMESTIC GODDESS, cleaning a emergency shelter apt so I can continue to make living amends for the damage I caused in my drug days.
And then I went home and cleaned almost the entire apt from top to bottom. I EVEN cleaned the two bathroom floors on my knees.
Then the HEALTHY GODDESS, went tanning and off to an AA meeting.
My clothes were ok, but the CAR GODDESS needs to get her act together. I putting it out for fear of embarrasment and then I will take care of it.

My partner is crime raved about this recipe when she made it for her last Bunco game. I thought I would share it. I am planning to make it tonight or this week.
Chicken from the old ladies of the park
Spray Pam or use olive oil on the pan
Lay 6 chicken breasts in the pan Put 1 slice of swiss cheese on top of each chicken breast Spread 2 cans of cream of chicken soup over top (undiluted-no milk) Sprinkle 1 box of Stove Top Stuffing mix over (dry) Melt 1 cube of butter and drizzle over top
Cover and bake
350 F for 1 hour

Yummy - I copied it. Sounds quick and easy.
Good job on cleaning the shelter apartment.
Now get busy on your car. It shouldn't take you more than an hour.
Report back when done.

Wow, alittle over and hour and my car is just about [censored] and span on the inside.
Need to vacuum and wash the body. I have never gone to a car wash place well at least that I can remember. Is there anything I need to know about?

I bought Goddess food today. Two Godiva Chocolate covered strawberries. Stupidly $$$, but so good. I treated myself. I ate them carefully and didn't waste any.
