Has anyone yet read The Shack?
Oh my goodness, I can't wait to hear if anyone here has. This book has been an absolute salve to my "great sadness"
This is a term used by the author in the book and if you read it you will identify to so much of what he writes.
I don't want to spoil it, but it is a fictional account of a man that is dealing with the "great sadness" of a torn relationship with God and the pain of losing his child to murder.
What follows is nothing short of brilliant and it was reading this book when I felt God's healing touch on me and I once again felt His great love for me.
The feeling that God has forgotten me in all of my pain and loss has been almost more unbearable that my H's infidelity.
I am so thankful to once again believe in Christ's great love for me.
The Shack is a great story, very unorthodox account of someone meeting God. It will blow you away and you will laugh and cry and be sad when the book ends.
I finished on Christmas Eve and it was such a gift to attenc Christmas Eve service not being angry at God for the first time in a couple of years!!! Glory!
Anyway, the website is:
TheShackBook.com
I promptly ordered four copies on Amazon.com and have already given them to my H and kids and one to pass on. I will be ordering more.
There are a couple of places where the theology is a bit off, but the overriding message is so powerful and healing!
I mentioned it to a friend who this year discovered her H's A. He has left her and stayed with the honey. My friend had already read the book and had been to a book signing by the author. He was a friend of her IC. Anyway, I guess Wynonna Judd got ahold of it somehow and invited him up to Seattle when she was in town, she was so touched by the book. Though that was interesting how things travel, it just came out in August. He is from this area in the Pac NW but it is getting around like wildfire. When you read it you will understand why. It has such a powerful message for those who are living under that "great sadness" blanket.
Enjoy!
