Who is this woman sitting in front of us now who politely asks what is wrong?
How do we start? What do we say to describe the night so long?
We stumble with words to somehow describe the road we've trod too long.
A road unknown, never dreamed we'd find, that now seems all so wrong.
Each week we faithfully come through the door to seek relief from the road.
For it beckons to us from each curve we encounter saying, "This is the way to go."
But wisely the woman points to the signs that so many seem to ignore.
"Darkness, pain, and tears in the night" are the burdens that lay in store.
Do we go down this road? Will it stop our pain? Is this woman telling the truth?
She must know this road, for she's been there before. It's a road well worn by proof.
So now we have a choice to make: the road or the way of God.
Each alone must make this final decision of which way their life will trod.
The girl chooses the way the woman insists brings happiness, love, and grace.
"It will not be easy, but be assured, God walks this path of faith."
But in the end, in spite of the woman, the boy chooses the road of death.
So the girl goes away to hide the heart that is broken, shattered, and dead.
Then God steps into this wrenching of hearts and speaks to the wayward boy:
"I gave you the woman to warn of the road and to show you the way of joy.
For a traveler who chooses this road of sin will never be the same.
What lies in store for your family is heartache, sorrow, and pain.
So I offer you now the gift of a miracle to heal your heart of pain.
What will you choose? The road you've been warned of or this miracle you now can gain?
If you give me your wayward heart to hold, forever close to my side,
I'll give you back the girl to love, in your heart to forever abide."
Then the road beckons loudly to the wayward boy saying, "I am your only choice."
But the boy wisely chooses the miracle from God and heeds the woman's voice.
The girl has returned, their hearts are one, their home is now intact.
All because of a God of miracles and His servant, the woman called Sarah Black.
