Call the counselor in your area that is on the "local partner" list and talk to them rather than assuming. They got on to that list for a reason.

txbrokenhrt, I would call the local person who was listed as a partner and see what they have to offer. Saving marriages is not the "thing" of most marriage counselors anyway, so you may be a step ahead with this local person.

Just be very careful because most marriage counselors are usless at best, and harmful at worst. They have a dismal success rate of 16%.

tx, I found MB through my counselor at my church, which is Baptist. If you don't have any luck with the C that is listed here, I would call some of your local churches because some have licensed family counselors who support MB.

I find pastors to be woefully ill equiped to deal with some of these issues.

If the counselor is on the local partners link you would think they should be helpful (otherwise, why would the Harley's put them on the link???).

I decided using the Harleys was the best choice regardless of the cost, regardless of insurance, regardless of creating a short term expense even if it meant refinancing, or borrowing elsewhere, because I agree that there may only have been one shot. And it's been worth every penny!

Just my own experience.

Divorce will cost you everything, this isn't necessarily the time to pinch pennies.

Just a thought:
Why do people want to hire the very best divorce attorneys to end marriages but not the very best marriage counselors to save them??????
