im so confused it seems i may have had this virus long before i recently married my husband and i just found out about it im not sure how to tell my husband that i have it and im very scared of what his reaction may be any suggestions ?????? please help . <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> im scared i may have infected him or its possible he may have infected me doc is not sure so what do i do

A little more info may be needed before making any suggestions. How long have you been married? How long did you date before marriage? Is your husband deployed? How long has he been away? Do you have children? Has either of you been involved in an affair?

I've heard somewhere that HPV (Human Pap(sp) virus) affect almost everyone at one point or another. I know they are pushing teenage girls into getting the vaccine because it's so common. I'm not a medical expert about all this, but you could ask your doc or maybe do some research on your own.

Some doctors are saying this is a common as the common cold. One thing, have you been faithful for more than two years? If so, it's unlikely you introduced it. Have you been married more than two years? If so, your husband may have introduced it. In the end, you won't be able to point a finger simply because there is no test for men yet.

Incubation Period - The time from infection until you have any signs (e.g. a wart or abnormal Pap smear) is both long and variable. It may be anywhere from a few weeks to more than 1 year. In addition, any changes that do occur may not be noticed for additional months or years. Thus, it is often extremely difficult or impossible to figure out who infected whom.
I hope this helps. One of the signs is genital warts. Have you noticed any on either one of you?

I have personally seen what the HPV is capable of doing.
My GF's co-worker's daughter was infected with it at birth and for the 14 years of her short life, the virus literlaly ate out her esophagus and had to have over 200 surgeries to keep her alive, but finally the infection finally degraded it to the point of hemmorage and she died absolutely miserably.
I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

I hope this helps. One of the signs is genital warts. Have you noticed any on either one of you? There are about 100 different type of HPV. The type that gives you warts is different from the type that causes cervical cancer. The type that gives you cancer is relatively rare and is not possible to detect in men at the moment although it is implicated in a higher level of prostate and penile cancer for life. The vaccine only protects against the types that give you cancer. How do I know all this? Well my precancerous condition (HPV 16) was a present from the Fat Slag. My OB/GYN by chance happens to be one of the country's leading research doctors in this area. Every day I say a little prayer that FatSlag does not get regular checkups.
