I want to know what everyone thinks of the following statements from a popular author (now deceased but whose influence is still very present in our society):
In response to the question of adultery, the author's POV was that a woman's physical satisfaction was more important than any marriage vow.
The author's view of marriage was: "The marriage bed is the most degenerating influence in the social order"
The following quote is taken from a more contemporary book that embraces the deceased author's POV about womanity, sex, and marital fidelity:
"The question of whether or not to sell ourselves to men is a false one: The real question is how to sell ourselves in the way that is least destructive to ourselves and our sisters. Prostitutes don't need our condescension. What they need is our alliance. And we need theirs."

Let me give a quote from one of my favorite authors, also deceased, but whose influence is still very present in our society. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
A smooth sea never made a skilled mariner. ~ English proverb Neak's Story

I think it's also worthwhile to note that your(mm's) deceased author was a product of, and a participant in, the eugenics movement. Most of that author's views revolved around a reduction in the production of children..."Less quantity, more quality"...
"If you put away those who report accurately, you'll keep only those who know what you want to hear. I can think of nothing more poisonous than to rot in the stink of your own reflections." (The Lady Jessica to her daughter Alia, in Frank Herbert's Children of Dune)

Just goes to show that all the credentials in the world do not make one intelligent, or compassionate, or right. The authors are mired in a dark world imo.

Lets not leave out the fact that she was a known adulteress - so in short - imho - just more wayward fog babble.
