Ok, married 5 years been together 9. She says things have changed and wants a divorce one day and wants to try marriage counseling the next. She has mentally abused me for 8 months now. I still love this women I think! But all my friends tell me to disengage her. Don't talk to her, keep things simple. No more talking about a pending divorce, no more I love you and such. Ive also read this in an article. Do the 180degee method now to show her that you can move one and she is not your master! But it is very hard to disengage her. She is nice one minute and evil the next. What the ******. Im like her little puppet! Has anyone done this, and has it worked for you? Thank you. Chris

Hmmmm. Well, I don't know you or her, but if you feel like a puppet, you probably are. I know there's some book out there called "Whose Pulling Your Strings" about this very topic. ANyhow, sounds like she's very off and on and probably just is nice to get something from you and when she doesn't want something from you, she's her usual self which may not be so nice.
I think you should tell her to send the papers to you if she mentions divorce again. Detachment.
And go see a marriage/family counselor by yourself and tell her if she's truly interested, she is welcome to come with you, but you are happy to work on yourself by yourself too.
That's my idea. Best of luck.
