I know alot of people here might be bummed out about failed relationships and not think Valentine's Day is anything to get excited over.....but I love this holiday! It's a day to do something special for all the sweeties in your life; whether they be children or parents or friends. Sure, the gift industry focusses on romantic sweethearts, but I love this day just to tell the people I love how I feel.

Not to mention, doesn't all that RED look just great against the dreary gray sky and ground and everything in between? (At least, it's that way if you live in the midwest).

So smile, put on something red, and go tell somebody you love em!

HUGS,

Anna

same to you anna! i had a wonderful valentine's day. i awoke my children and had the gifts i had gotten them on the kitchen table by their breakfast. my children, by far, are the best valentine's i have ever had! we sent out cards to family. my kids had fun parties at school. we made cookies the night before in shapes of hearts. my kids gave me home made valentines which are the best :-) and i was nicely surprised by a man friend with 2 dozen gorgeous carnations in red, pink, and white with a card that said "you deserve to be treated like a queen"... so, yesterday, my love bank overfloweth.

it was a very nice day. and i have not gotten flowers on valentines day in 12 years, no lie.

:-) mlhb

Ooooooooh, flowers! I actually almost bought some for myself in Walmart today, they were all half price. But I was practical and stuck to my list.......sigh...... I think I'll go eat a heart shaped cupcake.

Happy valentines day to you! It's great to know you've so much to be joyful about.

I don't have a special someone, but lots of people wished me happy valentines day and it's great just to see my younger colleagues celebrate and 'evaluate' their valentine dates.

I had a quiet night with the cat sleeping at my feet. She's furry and warm.

The day before Valentine's Day, The Diplomat sent me roses - - mixed colors for our varied views of many things.

Valentine's Day would have been my 30th anniversary. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> My children and I went to see Monty Python's Spamalot that night.
