H called yesterday and asked if I wanted to go out to dinner with him and his mother. Of course I said "great". He came by my apartment after work, drank and beer and we went to "their" house and picked her up. We had nice dinner. Went back and watched baseball until about 10:30, then he said he was "taking the little girl home". He came in and watched rest of the game, gave me a sweet kiss goodbye and left.
Whatever.....

That sounds a little disappointing. Either you got your hopes up to much (not) or he just doesn't know what you consider a good time. If you have told him then he sounds a little thick headed.
Sorry it didn't end up like you wanted

It's not that I was "disappointed". It's the whole "thing" since we've been separated. He says he doesn't know if he loves me, etc, etc, etc, but wants to spend time just hanging out. It is so weird. A year ago he said he hated me and wanted out of the marriage. Of course, he was having his thing then. I don't know what I'm saying. I guess he needs me to be his "buddy".

Gosh Janie....it sure sounds like your H is still confused with what he wants. He obviously doesn't want to lose you, but he's not sure if he wants a marriage.
Please hang in there. Maybe things will change soon....
