Charleton Heston passed away at 84 at his Beverly Hills home. Something to do with Alzheimers. So sad.
His wife of 64 years, Lydia was by his side when he passed.
64 years. That's amazing.

I just read about this, too! I thought about posting here but I didn't.
Yeah, I had heard he had Alzeimer's when they revealed it sometime last year, at least I think it was revealed last year. Coulda been 2006 for all I know since last year was so nuts.
All I can say is:
"Get your stinkin' paws off me, you damn dirty ape!"
Probably my favorite movie line EVER, or at least in the top ten!! (And one I'll use on Mr. Gray if he shows up!)
R.I.P. Charlton Heston!!!

One of the few actors I shall truly miss.
And in a day where Hollywood seems to celebrate infidelity and multiple marriages (the disposable kind), he was a rare jewel of example.
"Into thy hands, O Lord...."

I met him and his wife once at a book signing in London. They gave me a little more time than most because we share a surname (although Heston was not actually his birth name). He was a great actor; what a loss.
And 64 years of marriage!!

I once heard a story about him. His daughter, I believe, went to Pepperdine University and was required to routinely attend college. One day, she missed chapel. The next day, she went to the 'chapel office' with an note requesting that her absence be excused.
The woman in the office read the note then looked at the daughter. She said, more or less, "That will be fine. We'll make it an excused absence. After all, how could you refuse to accept a note from Moses?"

Have you ever seen the movie Soylent Green with him in it. It's a great movie, OLD, but great.
What a class act and to be married that long. What a gift from G-d.
