the minister that married my husband and i sent in our marriage license with the wrong date on it! we married on the 9th and he put the 8th. then to make it worse, he put a comma after the month, (i.e. April,8,2008) so the licensure office interpreted the comma as a 1 and put the 18th on our license! i am LIVID about this of course b/c our wedding date is the 9th to begin with not the 8th and definitely not the 18th! we chose this date b/c it was the day we met and was very important to us. now the minister who was my husband's fraternity brother is no where to be found and the licensure office said they would not correct the error unless the minister sent in the correction on letterhead from the church that he was clergy at during our wedding. of course, to add insult to injury, we have heard that the rev. is not even practicing anymore and has no church affiliation to get letterhead from! what can we do? please advise ASAP! i don't want my great-grandchildren recording a false legacy in our family history book! help! ps- state of ny.
