SHELLAC! LOL

Seriously, my mom bought a can of hairspray once and the first ingredient listed was shellac.

She got it for my sister and I for a ballet recital and didn't want our hair falling down. She said we slept on it that night and the next morning our bangs were still plastered to our heads.

I won't.

I promise.

I would NEVER be accountable for the destruction of a real Texan's "do."

My very dear Kimmy!! How delightful to have you pop up this way. I've been wondering about you lately but didn't know what to do about it. Neak might know, but she's getting ready to leave tonight with AJ for their 2nd multi-crosscountry trucking team effort, and she's pretty busy, having only been here since Friday afternoon and now she's on her way out again.

Glad you are well. Great that you still enjoyed Neak's book on a 2nd go-arounder. I ended up reading it about 6 times, what with proofreading and reading to small kids, etc. By the last time, it had somewhat lost its sense of fresh surprise, laugh but it was still a great book...so I think you can handle at least another 4 times before you need to start to worry about it going stale!!

Love to you,

tl

T&L,

You and your progeny make the world a much sweeter place.

Neak has my work addy...I'll hit her up to forward it to you so you won't worry about me.

You know how I hate it when a mom worries...doesn't matter if'n it's MY mom or someone else's, yannow?

I think I could sit through the book at least a dozen times, so I guess I'm good to go.

Right now I'm re-reading all my Isaac Asimov magazines from the 80s. Lawd sakes, I miss that man! He ranks right up there next to Jim Henson on my People-I'll-Forever-Cry-Over-Because-They're-Gone-Even-Though-I-Never-Met-Them list - I suppose Mel would shorten my list's name to The Elvis List, or sommat.

True Texans never mince words.

It's because of Feminine Hygiene

Kimmy, that brought tears to my eyes. I often wonder why I'm here and what I have accomplished, if anything, by remaining. I didn't come to build a marriage. I have no marriage advice to give, really--certainly not regarding MB principles, although I can tell you how NOT to do a lot of stuff that doesn't help make a good marriage. I wouldn't acknowledge, and might not even recognize, an emotional need if it sat on my lap and stared soulfully into my eyes. I will never be the MB poster child.

Besides checking this site out first to see what Neak was getting herself into, and then posting to disagree with some of the advice she was getting, I had no real reason to hang around. Or to tell The Sad Saga of OtherSusan the Stupid! blush If I weren't compelled by genetics to answer questions when somebody asks, I probably wouldn't have done that either! But "chatting" on MB was especially fun for someone who'd spent decades with a Clam, and even though I couldn't see that the original Hygiene thread served much of a useful purpose for anybody except me, I hung around anyway. I have always known what I got out of it. But I have to tell you that it was very warming to a tired heart to know that somebody else got something worthwhile out of it, too. You are a remarkable lady, living a life not many women could manage. Accept my accolades and my deepest respect. And thank you.

Howdy Kimmydoodle! Back to visit AND enjoying Peter - what more could I ask from you??? (A hello from a boofy-haired Texan? Well you brought that, too. grin)

Bet the littles are bigs, or at least biggers. Mine sure are.

Seriously, it is WONDERFUL to hear how well you and yours are doing. Thank you for all the support you have been over the past years. You are a real blessing!
